How to stop BOTS!?

Hi Guys

I am in the process of creating my first VB forum. I am very new to this.

I recently open my forum to start testing with some friends but I have had a huge number of BOTS/Members joining linking their websites and posting general crap in a foreign language.

I do appreciate that looking after a forum is hard work but I have between 20 to 50 of these nutters joining every day!

I have the image verification setting on in security. I know I could turn on the setting to moderate posts before they are let on to the forums but I don't really want to go down that route.

Does anyone else have this type of problem?
Is there some kind of setting/solution to decrease the numbers?

Also in the ADMIN CP it would be nice to have the option to mass delete members like you can with posts.

I've just logged on to my forum to night and have over 100 members to delete! I have turned my forum off until I can improve the situation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try reading this: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...istration-Bots

Then look for mods such as stopforumspam and other anti-spam modification in the 4.x mods area .
