Alubm Picture size not following usergroup setting and generating a database error

1 User is generating a problem with photo album uploads. A) The user's group upload (re)size setting is not being followed. Files are being posted at a size larger than specified in the usergroup settings (1024 instead of 1000 pixels). B) I'm receiving database errors from this users uploads. In particular the database errors correspond with files that are being posted at sizes quite a bit larger than 1024.

Normally image resizing works perfectly. This problem, so far, is only happing with one specific user.

Could this be a browser issue? Does my server need a reboot-- is GD acting flakey?

1) How do I troubleshoot this issue.
2) Can I manually, by editing the database manually, or otherwise get Vbulletin to correctly resize pictures that are already in the database?

It seems usergroup permissions were somewhat to blame here. The primary usergroup settings were fine, but the user was manually (by an Admin) made the member of 2 other usergroups. Those usergroups had image sizes set to 0,0 and I guess that was causing the problems.

I'd still like to resize down the images the user had already posted, but I'm not sure how.
