I really would like to see a tasteful site that is using the image upload option of vb.
i hope it's possible to specify where the image will be positioned.
i'm thinking of starting a community based site. i want to give users as much goodies as possible.
their own guest books etc.
most importanly the image upload.
please give me a reference.
how about the template. can i let each user select their own template?
where like when you click ontheir name it takes you to their profile and shows the template?

i woud like to get the best thing available. i see that flashkit.com is using vb so i'm assuming that it must be god to some degree.
i mean phpbb has so many hacks!

Can you expand on image upload? Images can be used in may ways with vB, Galleries, Avatars, Members Photos etc..

vB probably has as many hacks as phpBB: Total vB Hacks: 1,326 and counting.

There is a Photo Upload hack, as well as a Gallery hack. There are also commercial addons like Photopost. Plus Photo Upload is standard with vB3 coming out early next year.

in member profile. tha is the most important part. this is a link to a website that is using ubb board. tey have image upload . the boad in that website is centered around the memer. members have their own guestbooks. members can choose template and make their profiles look personal. i'm trying to put something like blackplanet.com or asianavenue.com togerther.
plese be honest with me if there is a beeter solution let me know.
the idea is design, i don't just want to let memebers upload photos in their profile. the design of the profile has to be prada material.. hot stuff.!

There are hacks for photo in profile, custom pages for users, journals - most things you can think of - for vB.

Unlicensed members cannot access vB hacks.

eslmix, no you dont have to pay to access the hacks, over 1,000 hacks are free but you ll need to buy VB and become legal licensed member then you can access tons of hacks at here.

Yes vb have the best template system, you can add your own or choose as you state.

But I dont know about people around here, but to me current photo or gallery hack is useless at best, incompitable or difficult to install. But one possible best hack for photo or gallery is on the way author by drkfusion. It has many features, seem advance enougn, and less buggy than other gallery/photo hack (drfusion, I hope it is! =p)

Go to hack database and use search function to look for "photo" or "gallery" word and you will get few results to access. Good luck

Speaking of link that you provide, I didnt look thur yet since I have to go but some of us hackers customize their hacks and didnt release or share with hackers at here so it is possible that webmaster customize that hack you speak of.

that link was made by ubb but i don't want to use ubb.
thy broke down their product into like three dfferent levels. that's too much marketing for me. i want techology. ubb does support photo upload though. that site in question 9haitianconnection.com) is using ubb.
this is year 2003, people want to see pictures. my site will be totally member driven. so i have tobe able to upload pictures in user profiles.
i really appreciate your honest answer. still if anyopne can show me an example, i would really appreciate it.

Check out http://beta.vbulletin.com vB3 has a built-in photo upload option for members.

honestly man, i went to that page i lok around and didn't seethe option to upload pictures. i check everyone's profile and no one had pictures on their profile.
what isthebig deal? php supports image upload. why is it taking vb(this great webboard) to add image upload capabilities.
i sw an attach file feature. i try to attach a file to the forum but could not even see that.
so image upload will be suported inversion 3.0.
so when is it coming out?
