Well, it's finally here. I've been working on it for a while and had massive problems with some of the graphics as my usual graphics guy sat on it for 6 weeks then let me down, but I got there in the end.

So, theres a couple of screenies attached (I know you guys just love your screenies ;) )
Live demo: here (http://www.peterska2.co.uk/?styleid=66)

To install: import the xml file and upload the xmas folder to your forums directory.

A big thanks to ekopapers (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/member.php?userid=53955) for his help with the buttons.

Enjoy, and please remember to hit that https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/ (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/vborg_miscactions.php?do=installhack&threadid=101300) button if you use this.

21 Nov 2005 @ 2245 GMT: Updated zip as forgot about copyright in footer.

07 Dec 2005 @ 23:55 GMT: Uploaded new xml for 3.5.2

That's very nice Peter. Although I don't think I'll be installing it, I think for my holiday theme I'm just going to change some buttons around.

Nice, very nice indeed. Tried to install, got this message half way through...yes it is probably something I have or haven't done correct.

peterska2
25 Nov 2005, 01:57
@ shush: I've uploaded a seperate copy of the XML so you can try using that.

@ AKOYLINI: it's for the page background. It's in the folder to be uploaded in the zip. Just upload the xmas folder to your forum root and all the images will be there and correct.

Is it something differant than what i have and would you prefer it instead of what i have? check my site and pick the theme..and let me know..

peterska2
25 Nov 2005, 23:04
It's just the addition of the following code above the vB copyright text in the footer

Style by <a href="http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/member.php?u=43427">peterska2</a>. &copy; 2005 <a href="http://www.peterska2.co.uk">peterska2.co.uk</a>.<br />

However, what you have put is fine. Thanks.

If you could use this code instead of the code I put in the footer template then that would be great.

I love it,however it is the first time I have installed the skin

Do I need to re add the mods on the nav bar? as my arcade lnik etc has gone and my rep images are just blank x's

peterska2
02 Dec 2005, 00:04
Yes, any mods to your styles will need to be redone unless you add this as a child style.

Ok but I can just re add my normal skin as child after I have done with this one right?

peterska2
02 Dec 2005, 13:44
yeah, or you can add this as a child to your normal skin

loonytune15
06 Dec 2005, 16:59
I added it as a child and my god was it hideous...

Added it seperately and added in a couple of things to it. Will just tell the members if they want some of the other hacks to use the other style.

Nice work

Hi @ all,

today Ive updated vBulletin to 3.5.2 and I miss something. In my profile under Instant Messenger, Skype is not available. In all other Templates I can see the Skype box. Maybe a little bug?!

Thx Highendfreak

It's not a bug, just that I haven't updated it to include skype support yet. Once I do I'll get an update sent out.

Updated to work with 3.5.2

To upgrade, import 352-christmas-peterska2.xml overwriting your existing copy of this style. You will also need to upload the new skype images to the correct location in the xmas directory.

umm can this skin be made to centre properly, for some reason its all aligning up on the left

peterska2
08 Dec 2005, 22:50
It should be aligning in the center. If not, can you provide details of browser used and version (3.5.x or 3.5.2). Thanks.

I'm missing:
xmas/misc/ftile_back_left.gif
xmas/misc/ftile_back_right.gif
xmas/misc/tile_back_left.gif
xmas/misc/tile_back_right.gif
xmas/misc/left_top.gif

Maybe I'm having a senior moment, but I cant find them anywhere.

Other than the ugly Xs in those spots, I lurve it very much

I use WOW Orange as my forum style. I'm going to change it from a child to a parent. I was trying to get out of installing some feature, but there are several things that it inherited I don't like. Sorry for the bother.

peterska2
10 Dec 2005, 02:37
ok try this.

Make sure you only do this in the Christmas Style otherwise you will mess up your normal style.

in your navbar template

findstyle="background-image:url(xmas/misc/tile_back.gif)"delete it

find<td width="58" height="29" align="left" valign="top"><img src="xmas/misc/tile_back_left.gif" width="58" height="29" alt=" " border="0" /></td>delete it

find<td width="58" height="29" align="right" valign="top"><img src="xmas/misc/tile_back_right.gif" width="58" height="29" alt=" " border="0" /></td>delete it

Go to 'Search in templates' and locate the following <!-- top skin4u.org category table setup -->
<table width="100%" style="background-image:url(xmas/misc/tile_back.gif)" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td width="58" height="29" align="left" valign="top"><img src="xmas/misc/tile_back_left.gif" width="58" height="29" alt=" " border="0" /></td>
<td width="100%" style="background-image:url(xmas/misc/tile_back.gif)" valign="middle"><div class="smallfont" align="center"> <strong>The Run down</strong></div></td>
<td width="58" height="29" align="right" valign="top"><img src="xmas/misc/tile_back_right.gif" width="58" height="29" alt=" " border="0" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
<!-- End top category table setup -->then delete it (I'm not sure which template that will be in)

Then repeat process for <!-- bottom table setup -->
<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td width="120" align="left" valign="top"><img src="xmas/misc/ftile_back_left.gif" width="120" height="23" alt=" " border="0" /></td>
<td width="100%" style="background-image:url(xmas/misc/ftile_back.gif)"></td>
<td width="120" align="right" valign="top"><img src="xmas/misc/ftile_back_right.gif" width="120" height="23" alt=" " border="0" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
<!-- End bottom table setup -->and delete this

in your header template

find
<td valign="top" align="left" width="104px" style="background: url(xmas/misc/left_middle.gif) repeat;">

<img src="xmas/misc/left_top.gif" align="top" /></td>delete it

find<!-- Snow Effect(Small SnowFlakes) by Blackpheonix to Dynamic Drive -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="/forum/images/misc/snow.js">
</script>
<!-- /Snow Effect(Small SnowFlakes) by Blackpheonix to Dynamic Drive -->delete it

Search in templates for <!-- bottom table setup -->
<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td width="120" align="left" valign="top"><img src="xmas/misc/ftile_back_left.gif" width="120" height="23" alt=" " border="0" /></td>
<td width="100%" style="background-image:url(xmas/misc/ftile_back.gif)"></td>
<td width="120" align="right" valign="top"><img src="xmas/misc/ftile_back_right.gif" width="120" height="23" alt=" " border="0" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
<!-- End bottom table setup -->and delete it (this is possibly in your navbar)

That should od the trick. If I've missed anything let me know.

When I install the version 3.5.2, I have advertising in my Forum :rolleyes: Also there is a member called 'Tom', but he is not registered. I am surprised... :o

peterska2
10 Dec 2005, 18:40
Ooopsie, I'll sort out an update later tonight.

I forgot about the extra changes I had made for my site.

The mystery 'Tom' is my bot who is hard coded into my WOL and active users. And my banner adds shouldn't be there either.

I'll get a fresh export making sure I remove these things.

Thanks for letting me know.

peterska2
10 Dec 2005, 18:54
Ok, I've reuploaded the 3.5.2 xml removing the stray bits of code from my site. If you redownload the xml and upload it overwriting the existing one then it will remove the stray code.

Let me know if you find anything else.
