Thread Prefixes

Version: 1.6.2
vBulletin Version: 3.6.10
Developer: Michael (Mystics) Koenig (www.vbulletin-germany.com (http://www.vbulletin-germany.com/))
Modification-Language: English & German & French (thanks to ReadWrite (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/member.php?u=45924) - Note: Readme has not yet been translated to french.)
Install-difficulty: Medium
File-edits: 5
Template-edits: 10

Brief Description of the Modification

This modification allows your users to choose a thread prefix for each thread. To do this you are able to select an appropriate prefix from a list beside the title while posting a new thread - for example 'Help', 'Problem', 'Search' etc.

This prefix will be displayed in front of the thread title. The result will be for example:
Problem - I can't find this setting

Problem is the thread prefix, I can't find this setting is the title of the thread.

The prefixes displayed in this list may be defined by a moderator for each of his moderated forums (Forum Tools -> Manage Thread Prefixes); of course an administrator and a super moderator is allowed to do this for every forum.

Features
Moderators are able to create own prefixes for each of their moderated forums.
(Forum -> Forum Tools -> Manage Thread Prefixes -> threadprefix.php)
Display of the prefixes on forum display, search results, subscribed threads and within the thread itself.
It is possible to change the prefix with editing the first post of a thread or with the thread tools available for moderators at any time.Settings in Admin CP
Maximum prefixes per forum
Thread Prefix required: Users have to select a thread prefix for their threads. You can select this globally for all forums or on a per forum basis.
Default Thread Prefixes: You may set default prefixes which will either be shown only in forums without own prefixes or be shown in addition to existing prefixes
Show Thread Prefixes in extra column or in front of the thread title in the same column
Alignment of the prefixes (if 'Show in extra column' is enabled): Align left, align right, center
Show Prefix in 'Last Post' column
Prefix HTML Markup: Specify an HTML tag with which to display the prefixes (bold, italic, red etc.)

this is the splashblue page

http://www.sharewithus.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=47&styleid=2
this is the style its gone funny on

i have checked it over and i am sure i have done it right, and i know these hacks are done for none modded styles, but could you have a look at these 2 pages and tell me where in your template changes i need to look abit closely again.

I see it's not currently possible :) but a suggestion for the future: For the automatic creation of Reported Posts and Infractions threads it would be quite cool to be able to have them created with a prefix.

Or come to that, allow other plugins that create threads to make use of the Thread Prefix plugin if it is installed.

Regardless, superb plugin as it is, thank you.

Just installed vB 3.6.0. In your installation instructions for file modifications, when I edit

showthread.php

looking for: thread.title

I cannot find that text, except in a comment line and as part of the SELECT. Any ideas?

Okay, I figured that out (sorry about that). HOWEVER, when I have my individual forum set to require prefixes, and then I don't enter one, I don't get the error message. Where should I go to fix this, and what might be wrong? I edited the js file just as I was supposed to.

Dennis, what was your fix?

Dennis Olson

There's an option in the AdminCP to "Require prefixes". I'd left that set to OFF, which is the default when the hack is installed. I set it to "By Forum" (or whatever it says) and then went into the Forum Manager for certain forums and set it to Required = Yes there.

I DO have a legitimate issue now though (and it MAY be my own fault, but I'd welcome a little input). For threads that currently have no profix, when I go to Quick Edit, then select Go Advanced, I naturally get the error notice to Select a prefix. I do that, then click SAVE. BUT - the prefix DOES NOT GET ADDED to the thread.

This only happens on EDIT, not on post a new thread, which works perfectly. Any ideas out there folks?

One feature you might also consider:

Copying the DEFAULT prefixes from a forum where they're already defined. For example, I'd defined all the prefixes for my "general" room, then had to copy/paste those into the defaults in AdminCP after-the-fact. (Redundant, yes I know, but I had my reasons.) It might be nice to have an option like:

SET DEFAULTS FROM THIS FORUM:

Which would do that automatically. This might be useful if you wanted to instantly and globally change your default prefixes.

Just a thought...

I have one quick question:

Have the template edits changed at all since the 3.5 version? I'm upgrading now, but not reverting all my templates (preferring to update them manually) and I'm just wondering if I have to check every one of the template edits to see if they're still the same as before or not...

Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /forum/showthread.php on line 2

:confused: I don't even know what parse means, let alone that whole message. Any help would be appreciated! Oh, and feel free to check out what i mean by clicking on any post at http://virginiareia.com/forum/index.php. I just hope that it didn't cause any other errors & that this one can be fixed.

:surprised: argh! so i got the original showthread, which prior to altering it for this mod, had, to my knowledge been the same. i replaced my showthread with that one, and even without making the necessary showthread changes, i was able to access my posts again... of course, i went back and made the changes and all was good... OR SO I THOUGHT! =(

Now I don't have control over my quick reply button, nor do i have access to change the font, size or color... who knows what else... within the post...

Please help!

Take a look at your file:
http://virginiareia.com/forum/clientscript/vbulletin_textedit.js

You never ever should edit php or *.js files with programs like Word - and if you have to, save it as plain text.

Take the original vbulletin_textedit.js, open it with Notepad and do the modifications again. Upload the file and be happy :)

(you might wanna check the other modified files as well...)

marlita
21 Aug 2006, 16:13
Thank you, I will try those right now! I hope you're still online by the time I'm done lol. It's funny, I used to always use Notepad, but then I read in one of these forums that I should use Word. *sigh* live and learn.

Thanks again. I'll post soon.

:D Oh, thank you so much! It worked! I'm nervous to check the others, but I know I should.

Sidenote: is it possible to have more than one prefix?

Thanks again!

PS - I've removed the test username & password.

PPS - In case this happens to anyone else: what happened to me was that somehow when I saved, it added /pars to the end of each line, probably because i was saving in rich text format. it created a mess, so nothing was working. Just make sure that this doesn't happen to you. It was a crazy pain to undo. :-)

Another question:

I see at the bottom under display options you can select to display only threads with a certain prefix. It's a great feature but I'd like to integrate it more. What code do I need to use to actually link the name of the prefix to that sort option?

So for example if the prefix was 'version 2', I want to make that 'version 2' prefix text a link so that when it's clicked on it does what the display option does and only shows threads with 'version 2' as the prefix. What code do I need to do this?

I found where the prefix is in the threadbit template and I looked that the code for the display option but I don't know how to write the code to bring pull and pass on the prefix dynamically.

Thanks in advance for your help.

One more issue:

On the INDEX page (index.php), in the Last Post column, if the latest thread DOES NOT have a prefix, the prefix from whatever one HAS a prefix is used. In my screen-cap below, the thread specified does not have a prefix. However, the thread immediately under that (in the forumdisplay for that room) has the prefix "DOGS". So DOGS is shown as the prefix for the Last Post, even though it has no prefix at all.

Yes. I've also used previous incarnations of this mod, so I know pretty much what to expect. Note that this issue ONLY occurs in a forum that requires prefixes, and ONLY when people first start using prefixes (so many of the prefix values are still blank). Once there are several pages of threads with prefixes present, this issue no longer manifests itself.

Mystics,

This seems like a great hack but one question.

To make it easier on everyone and since you already modified the code, would it not be easier to include the line numbers of the code that need to be replaced.

showthread.php has 1924 lines of code and it can be a little taxing to say the least when looking for a single line of code, coupled with the fact that it would insure that the right code was modified which in turn would cut down on the amount of replies like,:smoke: "it does not work" or :smoke: "i can't find it" etc. etc.

Keep up the excellent hacks.

jackd

showthread.php - line 1810
clientscript/vbulletin_textedit.js - lines 1730,1731,1732
includes/class_dm_threadpost.php - line 398
includes/functions_databuild.php - line 146
includes/functions_online.php - line 1624

A liitle help lease before I screw something up.

In the editpost template step 3 it states find this code-

<td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="title" value="$title" size="50" maxlength="85" tabindex="1" title="$vbphrase[optional]" /></td>

and add above, this code -

<if condition="$show['threadprefix']">
<td>$threadprefixes&nbsp;</td>
</if>

Exactly where above does this code get added. The first thing above is the <tr> tag so I do not see it going there. Above that is another similar section of code... Is that to be replaced.

tr>
<if condition="$show['threadprefix']">
<td class="smallfont">$vbphrase[threadprefix]:</td>
</if>
<td class="smallfont" colspan="<if condition="$show['threadprefix']">2<else />3</if>">$vbphrase[title]:</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="title" value="$title" size="50" maxlength="85" tabindex="1" title="$vbphrase[optional]" /></td>

I hope this makes sense but exactly where would this new line of code be added.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a way to center "Testing" Prefix?Hm, you can change the alignment of thread prefixes in your vBulletin settings.

i hope you can tell me what i missed so i dont have to do this all over again but......

once i do the "new thread" template edit my title box goes away on all new posts, you cant insert a title at all, not to mentionthere is no prefix box either.

i can revert the template and get the title box back

whats going on?Re-do the modifications properly.

Exactly where above does this code get added.
:confused: ??? Exactly above the line you have to find.

well i have built quite a few css pages and never inserted any code between a
<tr> and <td> tag...Yeah? What about just another row!? <if condition="$show['threadprefix']">
<td>$threadprefixes&nbsp;</td>
</if>This is the code you have to insert..you don't see the <if> in the output...only the new row...

So in the end it's just:<tr>
<td></td>
<td></td>I don't see any reason why you couldn't do this...

I have a question about the "Show Prefix in 'Last Post' column" feature.

In order to see prefixes tagged to topic titles in index.php you need the above option on but with this option on it passes the prefix over to the next newly created thread title. (As described in the option field)

So if userA makes a thread with a [Information] prefix and then userB comes along and makes a new thread without a prefix the [Information] prefix gets tagged to this new thread even though the new thread may not be information.

I suppose this could be bypassed by forcing members to use prefixes but that is not suitable for my forum.

Is there anyway to have the prefix shown in the last post column on index.php but not get tagged to the next new thread created if it as no prefix?

P.S Good work, Easy to install and works great.

The Goodbye thread was created without the [Information] prefix, But because the last prefix used in the forum was [Information] its being attached to it.

If you read the desciption of the "show prefix in last post column" option in the admincp it says:

If you enable this option the last used prefix will be shown in the Last Post column of each forum. This applies to Forum Home (index.php) and Forum Display (forumdisplay.php).

The bold part is exactly what its doing, It showing the last used prefix even if its not apart of the last thread made.

The mods installed fine, Im 100% positive.

EDIT:

Just so you know, I can not replicate the problem on demand, Its appears to just start happening after a certain period of time.

Turning the option on and off seems to fix it for a short while then it starts happening again.

I got a question/request

Can you make some prefixes staff only applied.

As I want to make a prefix that only a staff member can apply once they have looked at the thread, so they will edit the thread and apply the staff only prefix.

Is this currently possible, if not could I request this?

Thanks.

Having the ability for only the mods and admins to be able to apply these would be supurb. And is almost a necesity for my forums. This is a great mod... but would be a supurb one if it had an admin/mod only prefix setting.

I followed step by step the .php and template modifications.

Maybe an old mod was interfearing.,,

But now I cant use any links in the edit box. Meaning everything is ee for editing font, sizes, bold, italic, ect... cant click on it.

The mod also moved the descriptions (views, thread poster, replys) one column over. I reverted forumdisplay and fixed that. I still cant fix the edit option though.

Short overview of the needed modifications
==========================================

1. Files that need to be edited:
- /showthread.php (Display prefix in 'Similar Threads')
- /clientscript/vbulletin_textedit.js (JavaScript error message if no prefix was selected)
- /includes/class_dm_threadpost.php (Prefix within emails to moderators)
- /includes/functions_databuild.php (Update prefix in column 'Last Post' for mod functions)
- /includes/functions_online.php (Display prefix in 'Who's online')

It is your decision if you need the above functions or if you decide do use the product without file modifications!
You don't have to do the file modifications as the product will work even though without them!

Of these options only one file can be modified in vB 3.6.2 and that is /includes/functions_online.php. The file /showthread.php has two instances of the code to change but the installation instructions do not clarify if both need to be changed. None of the others have the code that needs modification. I hope this will be updated soon to take account of the changes from 3.6.1 to 3.6.2

I would like to see the option that threadprefixes are only usuable by moderators or specific member-groups.

Say for example there's a request-forum.
Somoene posts a request.
And then teh mod can set/update a prefix to it saying something like "accepted".
(instead of the current situation: a member can set that prefix already by himself :p which ain't the right way)

Also, it would be very nice to be able to use images instead of text.
:eek: it just hit me: Can I set those prefix-HTML-markup to:
<img src="images/prefixes/{1}.gif" border=0 title="{1}" /> ?

But IF that would work, u couldnt' use text prefixes (in other forums) next to it :o

So after asking elsewhere in the vb.org forums I've tracked it down to the thread prefix modification to subscription.php particularly a 'double AS phrase',
mine looks like:
$previewfield thread.threadid, IF(thread.threadprefix <> '', CONCAT('" . $vbulletin->options['prefixmarkup_start'] . "', thread.threadprefix, '" . $vbulletin->options['prefixmarkup_end'] . "', thread.title), thread.title) AS title AS threadtitle, forumid, pollid, open, replycount, postusername,
$lastpost_info, postuserid, thread.dateline, views, thread.iconid AS threadiconid, notes, thread.visible, thread.attach
" . ($vbulletin->options['threadmarking'] ? ", threadread.readtime AS threadread" : '') . "
$hook_query_fields

and a 'clean' vb3.6.2 subscription.php looks like:
$previewfield thread.threadid, thread.title AS threadtitle, forumid, pollid, open, replycount, postusername,
$lastpost_info, postuserid, thread.dateline, views, thread.iconid AS threadiconid, notes, thread.visible, thread.attach
" . ($vbulletin->options['threadmarking'] ? ", threadread.readtime AS threadread" : '') . "
$hook_query_fields
so what can I do to 'fix' this so members can actually view their subscription list but we can also have the thread prefix?

$lastpost_info, postuserid, thread.dateline, views, thread.iconid AS threadiconid, notes, thread.visible, thread.attach
" . ($vbulletin->options['threadmarking'] ? ", threadread.readtime AS threadread" : '') . "
$hook_query_fields
to
$previewfield thread.threadid, IF(thread.threadprefix <> '', CONCAT('" . $vbulletin->options['prefixmarkup_start'] . "', thread.threadprefix, '" . $vbulletin->options['prefixmarkup_end'] . "', thread.title), thread.title) AS threadtitle, forumid, pollid, open, replycount, postusername,
$lastpost_info, postuserid, thread.dateline, views, thread.iconid AS threadiconid, notes, thread.visible, thread.attach
" . ($vbulletin->options['threadmarking'] ? ", threadread.readtime AS threadread" : '') . "
$hook_query_fields

(just took out the 'AS title' before the 'AS threadtitle')

not sure it that was all that was affecting subscriptions or not, there was also a problem with instant email notifications not being received but was only tackling one problem at a time. waiting to hear back from members as to whether that also cleared up with the above fix.

For peeps, who don't want the prefixes to be set by members, but only by moderators:
revert or not edit the template newthread, so u won't find the dropdownlist there ;)

For those who only want images as prefixes, go to:
vBulletin Options / Help Thread Prefixes v1.6.1
And edit the Prefix HTML Markup (within forums) to:
<img src="images/prefixes/{1}.gif" title="" />

Unfortunately I tried to use {1} two times (as title="{1}") with no luck :(

But with images as prefixes, u can make ur prefix any color u want.
(type a word in a image-program, give it a color, save it as gif, and u're done ;)
or just make a cute pic for it :cool:

Bug: If in forum ID, where turned on this hack, thread not have thread prefix so... when we browse main forum page (home page) we can see at column Last post this thread name + prefix from first thread in forum. Thread without prefix are sticky and for this thread on forum home page will add prefix from first thread in this forum that have prefix. So, on main page this hack add prefix, but currently this thread doesn't have prefix.

Future suggestions:
1) add AJAX prefix change when browse forumdisplay.php (like we can change thread title with mouse double click)
2) store all prefix names in DB. And if we rename one prefix this changes will automatically apply for all threads that have this prefix
3) ability to customize which prefixes can be used/displayed for which forums ID. It's need for faster page loading. For example: I have around 50 prefixes, but at some forum ID I will use just 2-3 prefixes and other prefixes not needed. At this moment, this hack display all prefixes and it's increase page size and page loading.

PS: I'll be happy if it be done in one of future versions of this hack :) If not, I'll must uninstall this hack and do this prefixes manually :(

I figure out the path is not correct.

Wrong: /var/www/web0/html/vbTest/Admincp/prefixinstall_text.php
Right: /var/www/web0/html/vbTest/admincp/prefixinstall_text.php

so what do i wrong?

in the config.php the admin cp Variable is setting to admincp in lower case, so where they get the uppercase?

Edit: So, now i edit the prefixinstall.php, hardcode the path and now works.

Hello,

This some kinda feature request:

- Prefixe groupe based: i mean only certain groupe may select certain prefixes.
- Per-prefixe HTML tag: i mean eatch prefixe with specific HTML tag for (ex: color) ex: red "Problem" green for "Solved"...etc

when i was in phpBB i have a mod installed with this features, so i'm wandering if u could do this

Thx a lot !!

2) store all prefix names in DB. And if we rename one prefix this changes will automatically apply for all threads that have this prefixAlready possible when changing prefixes via forumdispplay.php.
3) ability to customize which prefixes can be used/displayed for which forums ID. It's need for faster page loading. For example: I have around 50 prefixes, but at some forum ID I will use just 2-3 prefixes and other prefixes not needed. At this moment, this hack display all prefixes and it's increase page size and page loading.Then just define those 2-3 prefixes for those forums.

HMM, is it just me or does the display options dont work??

[_] Have Prefixes in alphabetical order
(Prefix Number will be ignored)

[o]Ascending [o]Descending

when i submit the form it resets >_<The prefixes will be ordered and stored in the database. So it's normal that this form always shows the default options.

Mystics, is the current version of this hack compatible with the 3.6.4 release of VB? I have been seeing posts from some saying it works with no problems on their board while others are saying the complete opposite. I realize of course there is quite a diversity of configurations and user skill level so it's hard to take anyone's word.

Can you say either way if it is fully compatible with 3.6.4 or if an update is pending? Also, any word on whether this hack may get integrated into the 'officially' VB product down the road? Thanks and keep up the great work! :)

the reason is, that some of the files/lines have been moved from vB you just have to do a little foot work yourself. it is working you have my promise on that. I'm using it on 3.6.4

Thanks for the mod, quite easy to install and easy to configure exactly to my liking. Would prefer to be able to set global prefixes instead of the forum-by-forum basis but I'll live with it. :)

It seems my only problem post-install of this mod is that the text/links for my similiar threads on the showthreads page are now blank. I don't need the prefixes to appear there, so any chance of getting the code I need to restore it to previous functionality?

Hello All,

I'd like to know few points before installing :

- is it possible for Admin to change prefix if poster was wrong?
- or is it possible to let this hack used only by Admin (but seen by all users)?
- what happens if there is already a sticky prefix for sticky threads? Does Mystics prefix stand before or after the sticky one? (in case of no use of column, of course)

And finally, would it be hard to implement a default "Prefixed threads" button (or something about) in the navbar in order to display all these in one click while arriving on the board?

Thank you for your help.

20 Dec 2006, 00:26
Hi Limerick,

1) Sure every Mod can change the prefix if necessary
2) That just doesn't make any sense ;) I'm afraid, you can deactivate the prefixes per forum, but not per usergroup
3) before

and finally:
in fact I don't think this is very easy, according to the changes you've made there will be differnet sets of prefixes for every forum.
You can filter searchresults by prefix, but you'll have to have a searchterm too.
To just find every thread just with a prefix would be a sql query with a huge result if not filtered by forum or searchterm or user or...

If you want to find threads with a prefix from admin control panel maybe my small add-on will help (see first-post)
but for users.... that one's useless

Hi Sid,

Thanks for your answer.

1) Ok, great.
2) That makes sense to me (or to my board, to be more accurate). In fact, it belongs to me to decide what prefix to set before thread title. It would be a way to define a thread "in course", "solved", "important", etc...
3) Humm... after would have been better...

4) (And finally... ;) ) I would need all these prefixed thread (or some of them, by type), to be pinned at the top of the forumhome (plus to their own forum). I thought I've seen a board somewhere which had such feature... but I don't remember where...

I'm going to see your add-on, :)

Thank you anyway.

It would probably be easier to set up a sub-forum specifically for that and choose the 'no count' option for it.

Can't hurt to ask....

I understand that we can set the number of prefixes to whatever number we want, i.e. 20
However, I would like to know if it is at all possible to have TWO prefix colums. i.e. 20 each or so.

I have a forum where I want members to post medical jobs. Having this THREAD PREFIX Mod allows me to put in an extra column such as STATE. However, I wanted another column such as "SPECIALTY"

So, my question is this...Can this be done?

Thanks.

I installed and used this on many v3.5 forums and it worked well. However this version seems quirky. I am embarrassed to say that whenever I install it the entire post interface controls are rendered useless. (text formating, smilies, quote, code etc. ... not clickable)

Hello! I am enjoying your mod very much. I have a question, though, that with my limited understanding of vBulletin is pretty hard for me to figure out on my own. I would like to STOP the prefix from getting added to the browser title bar (ie. the top of the browser window). Everywhere else is fine, but up there causes some problems with the way I am using the prefixes. What do I have to take out to prevent the prefix being added there?

Thanks very much. Great mod, very handy! Bit of a beast to install >.< but worth it.

NOTE: an alternative solution that would be great would be to be able to specify images instead of text for the thread prefix. The reason I am having this problem is because my system to put images in the thread prefixes is rather complicated.

Thread Prefix required: Users have to select a thread prefix for their threads. You can select this globally for all forums or on a per forum basis.
Is it possible to make (as a change of the normal mod) the prefix choice required, but you can choose an empty prefix? I'dd like to make my users obligate to choose, but the may also choose an empty prefix.

You mean to say that you can not find the search text? where its telling you to do the edits? What I usually do is just search a PIECE of the text and see if it comes up sometimes a LINE "enter" space will throw off the search to. I try making everything on one line or at least no huge amounts of empty spaces.
So basically take say half the line search for that see if it pops up where it should and match as much of the text as you can then do your edit there. Good luck

Ok, I've got this installed and working fine...somewhat.

When I delete a post from a "private" forum, I get a white page but the thread still gets deleted. So it's not forwarding me to the proper forum after deleting. I can delete threads in public forums with no problem.

I'm running vBSEO, so I'm thinking there may be some conflict with that and how things forward/rewrite, etc. Anyone know of a fix for this...since I know the author isn't supporting this anymore...sadly enough.

Fixed with the new version of vBSEO.

This ranks in my top 5 for all time best vBulletin mods but sadly Mystics no longer updates it. :( The current version requires quite a bit of tweaking to get it working correctly. It would be fantastic if he were to come back and update it to resolve this matter and add the few tweaks that others have introduced.

Even better, of course, would be if Jelsoft officially integrated it into vBulletin itself! :up: ;)

I don't know if this is related, but after installing this mod, if I click edit on any post, the quick edit opens fine, but if I "go advanced" i get an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error, then if I just click refresh on the error page, the advanced edit loads.
Edit
I found out its the class_dm_threadpost.php edit that does it

$threadinfo['threadprefix'] = unhtmlspecialchars($this->table == 'thread' ? $this->fetch_field('threadprefix') : $this->info['thread']['threadprefix']);
if (!empty($threadinfo['threadprefix']) AND $foruminfo['allowprefix'])
{
$threadinfo['title'] = $this->registry->options['prefixmarkup_start'] . $threadinfo['threadprefix'] . $this->registry->options['prefixmarkup_end'] . $threadinfo['title'];
}

I'll search this post for a solution.

Good idea will be add option that admins or mods can only change prefixes or they will have restricted ones only for them. So simple users will be not able to use them. Dunno if that allready exist.

Btw have a problem with the code it says:

Find:
<td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="title" value="$title" size="50" maxlength="85" tabindex="1" title="$vbphrase[optional]" /></td>

Replace:
<if condition="$show['threadprefix']">
<td>$threadprefixes&nbsp;</td>
</if>

I have:
<td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="title" value="$title" size="50" maxlength="$vboptions[titlemaxchars]" tabindex="1" title="$vbphrase[optional]" /></td>

Next on is:

Find:
<td class="smallfont" colspan="3">$vbphrase[title]:</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="subject" value="$subject" size="40" maxlength="85" tabindex="1" /></td>

Change:
<if condition="$show['threadprefix']">
<td class="smallfont">$vbphrase[threadprefix]:</td>
</if>
<td class="smallfont" colspan="<if condition="$show['threadprefix']">2<else />3</if>">$vbphrase[title]:</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<if condition="$show['threadprefix']">
<td>$threadprefixes&nbsp;</td>
</if>
<td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="subject" value="$subject" size="40" maxlength="85" tabindex="1" /></td>

I have:
<td class="smallfont" colspan="3">$vbphrase[title]:</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><input type="text" class="bginput" name="subject" value="$subject" size="40" maxlength="$vboptions[titlemaxchars]" tabindex="1" /></td>

In result i get this kind of weard stuff see picture all topics are above the borders this :down:

I've made a template edit here (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=146559) that allows the users on the forum to choose how they want to display them within the forum display. They can choose column, inline, or off.

Uninstalled since 3.6.6 - to much work after every Update. Waiting for a Product that takes the Templatechanges.

Hmm, if Mystics does not update this to use automatic template changes, I can create it (it's relatively easy to do).

Sounds nice - maybe you want to contact him via PM to discuss this?

Yepp - Filechanges are done in 2 Minutes every Update ... but now at 3.6.6 after i see the Templatechanges again ....... :eek:

And i have my Board full of Products - but Threadprefix is the only one with more than 2 small Changes. Hope for a Update that uses the Hooks.

I have installed the 3.6.7
Then re-applied the template changes on the templates that were reverted.

Now the prefixes are not showing on FORUMDISPLAY

does anyone know how to fix it ?

yeah... this is quite annoying, some other mods work far better with version changes.. anyway, a product would be greatly appreciated instead!

I have a question I could really use some help on, as I am about to launch an update to my site with a whole new forum/site and would love to be able to take full advantage of the thread prefix system I have installed

I am using thread prefixes to warn of content that could upset people (I run a support forum) and it would be exceedingly useful to be able to filter results in a forum knowing all the results were safe to read. Members could before prefixes just manually place the prefix in the thread title, but if this system could allow them to steer clear of threads that they do not want to see, then this brings a whole new aspect to things.

With thread prefixes you already get a filter box, but that searches for threads with a prefix, not threads without.

Would there be any way of modifying that filter box (or putting another next to it) that would allow my members to exclude all threads for displaying that had a certain prefix?

If it requires work I would be willing to pay for it, but we are non profit so it couldn't be masses

Thanks so much

Harley
