This will add a link to user albums in the postbit or postbit_legacy template (depending which you use)

1.Open either your postbit or postbit_legacy template
2. Search for

$post[onlinestatus]

3. Above add

<a href="album.php?u=$post[userid]" title="View $post[username]'s Album" rel="nofollow"><img src="images/buttons/add_album.png" alt="View $post[username]'s Photo Album" border="0"/></a>

4. Save Template

Screenshot and install instruction included

You are free to re-use this code for any non-commerical purposes

Can this be set to only link if they have photos in their album?

I would agree with that - no point in sending most people to a page with nothing on it. I think this would need to be a plugin.

If you find it, feel free to share it with all of us :D I'm no programmer so I didn't have a clue of where to look

Are you sure you did the template edit correctly? There isn't any code there that would show a drop down menu.

Do you have a link to your site where you tried it?

I added mine to the other side of the postbit in text just below the users post count and says "See username's photo albums"

Find in postbit template
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<!-- / user info -->
</td>

Add above
<a href="album.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]"> See $post[musername]'s photo albums</a>

Not the prettiest thing but it works and I haven't figured out the if statement either though.

I suggest you to add to the <img> tag style this code:

style="vertical-align: middle"

Great mod, I've adapted it for use in the members list results page, now how can we add the album and picture counts like in the members' profile page stats box? Thanks, rg.

Why not just use class="inlineimg"?

Photopost's vbGallery uses this code in the postbit to show the number of photos and comments for that member. I've attached a screenshot of how it displays.

<if condition="!empty($post[ppicount])">
<div class="vb_postbit_info">
Photos: <b><a href="gallery/browseimages.php?do=member&imageuser=$post[userid]">$post[ppicount]</a></b> Comments: <b>$post[pppcount]</b>
</div>
</if>

so is there any way we can adapt this same method into vbulletin's user albums? I want to get away from vbGallery so bad. :)

Has anyone figured out the variable for the number of photos for a user (if there is one)?

It would be really easy to write an if statement if this is availabe...

<if condition="$post[whatever_the_var_is]>='1'">
Photos: (<a href="album.php?u=$post[userid]" title="View $post[username]'s Album" rel="nofollow">$post[whatever_the_var_is]</a>)
</if>

Something like this would be sweet... I slopped this together so it may or may not work once the var is found. If someone would like to create a thread on this i'd be more than happy to contribute. I've already started looking around in album.php for possible solutions.

Wouldn't it be in the Albumbit?

Maybe this one: $album[picturecount]

That won't work unless you do a query to get the picturecount in the postbit and that would make a query for every post on the page. Not an option, realistically.

I'd really like the conditional as well. I'd hate to have people excited to see someones album only to find out there isn't one...

Thanks for this mod BTW! It's great!

I don't think you can do a conditional for this without adding a query for each post.

is there a way to add a new entry in the album table which is set to 1 if someone adds a photo.

the actual value could be set by a scheduled taskl which runs on any that show 0 every hour or so?

Good little MOD.

Will click installed.

Be better to just put in template of a user who doesnt have an album a condition, that IF no albums, click here to go back.

That could save some confusion, and any additional server requests.

I cannot use something like this, but can this be modified to or another mod created to do the following:

In new thread or Reply, can a user / member have a icon that is connected to that users albums to use the img tag for that image?

currently a user must have two pages open to take advantage of that.

and this is why 3.7 AND 3.8 fail miserably at the NETWORKING part. Let's give you all these cool options that people can have and then make them impossible to find. Oh and brand it as 'Social Networking'.

I've been able to get it working with one additional sub query. I'm still looking for a more efficient way, I'll post up what I have in the next couple days once I've run out of other ideas to test.

I would really appreciate anything you find out about how to have it not show if the user doesn't have an album. I have added the icon by the icnicon and it works well.

That makes two of us :)

My site is gaining some momentum, adding these little "Corrections" to a faulty design is a must. I sure hope VBulletin develpers are listening.

Personally I am convinced the furture for talk forusm is moving more toward a social networking model. With m forum, we are trying to globalize our site and bring world peace to everyoe one Motorcycle Rider at a time :up: :D

Theres a modification floating around here some where that did exactly this, if the user had a photo album it'd show the link, if not then it wouldn't show the link.

I can't seem to find it, but I know its in the 3.7 section some where and it worked like a charm. I'd advise people install that one since its better from a usability stand point ;)

Hello,

for anyone interested, a text link variation that looks OK under thanked posts stats looks like this:

<div>
$vbphrase[posts]: $post[posts]
</div>
$template_hook[postbit_userinfo_right_after_posts]
<div>
View <a href="album.php?u=$post[userid]">$post[username]'s photo albums</a>
</div>
