Does it make you twitch a little that the navbar doesnt match the user profile style? Well, it did me. So I created a template modification that allows the navbar to be included in the users profile css style.

Enjoy this simple template edit! Simple but powerful, that is.

****open template MEMBERINFO

Find
$header

After add

<br />
Find

$navbar

Delete it.

Find
<div id="usercss" class="floatcontainer">

After add

$navbar

Save.

For Album pages

One at a time...

****open
template album_pictureview
template album_picturelist
template album_list.
Do the same edits all 3.
Find

$header

After add

<br />

Find

$navbar

delete it.

Find

<div id="usercss">

After add

$navbar

Save and your done. :D

Updating to include profile album pages

Updated to add album list and album view? should I further integrate? I think the pages that are viewable by page visitors should do.

Added better screen shots too.

Not sure I follow.. LOL

If you are being sarcastic. Thanks.

Simple mod for those who know nothing about the template system.

This moves the navbar down and into the users custom profile.

i think what would be helpful to others is a before and after screenshot.
i installed it and i dont see a difference lol.

OKAY before and afters. Default 3.7 beta does NOT included the navbar as a styled item on the page.

With this template edit you will achieve this

74983
The users custom style is now defined through out the navbar.

The default 3.7 Beta gives you this

74982

No custom style. :erm:

It's very smart.
I think you should repost / edit your first message adding the last 2 pictures.
The first ones, I couldn't see a difference, are not clear.
I am going to install it after 3.7.0 gold.

Is there any way to do the main background as well?

UncoderMom

I have something else Im gonna do but its not a profile one.

BUT I have been messing around with them trying to see what I can do and not break the lay out. They have coded things very different this time around so I'll have to break myself in a little LOL. I'm still learning a good deal about css.

This is possible I have gotten close but I just dont know enough to get it to go without messing something else up.

I actually think it just needs to be called in the users css template.. I'll see if I can figure it out.

can you look at my member profile on my site (link in sig) and tell me what to do to fix the right column? the FRIENDS pics tend to overlap the module below it. it used to be at 12 friends or whatever that was shown and i reduced it down to 6 and it's still doing it.

Okay Alfa1

I've got this so far http://myloveisblind.com/forum/member.php?u=1&styleid=2

I was trying to do everythign so that it works well with custom headers and footers as well as default vb.

You cna see what it looks like by using the style picker on the bottom.. switch to default :)

Now I need to get the footer in there.

Alfa1

I am confused. I don't see it.

UncoderMom
01 Feb 2008, 02:20
Default style..

http://myloveisblind.com/forum/member.php?u=1&styleid=1

I dont think it would be the best to let it have the WHOLE page.. This just lets it expand through the white background.

I should probable post the how to on a different thread as it is a bit. :)

I see now. It is wider. Would it be possible to keep it at normal width, but replace the page background with the profile background?

You can do a lot more with a page when you delete the header and footer. I'm sure I can do that. The way I would do it is with either a custom footer or just add my footer info right to the bottom of the page.

I'll investigate!

The highslide on that page is super sweet! There is a mod for that.

For consistency throughout the album pages, you should add:

album_addgroup
album_edit
album_moderatedcomments
album_picture_edit
album_picture_upload
album_unreadcomments

Thanks again!
