so since i have installed vb 3.7 RC 3 everytime i try to backup the database to my server it seems to stop everytime at this:

Processing: vbposthash

and it goes no further...i have left it processing for over an hour and it still sits there. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

How big is that table? Have you ever optimized it? Is this your own server or a shared server?

its a shared server thru godaddy, i have never optimized it. Data length is 11.6 KB, Index Length is 9.0 KB

i have just ran an optimization of the tables and it still stops at the vbposthash even tho the file is waaaayyyyy smaller now....314 bytes

The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeouts errors and an incomplete backup file. Please see the instructions here:

Backup:
http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/maintenance_ssh_backup

Restore:
http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/maintenance_ssh_restore

P.S. If you don't have shell access, some people have also reported success with these scripts:

MySQLDumper:

MySQLHotxcopy:
