View Full Version : Sunrise - the beginning of a new day!

I love to watch the sunrise of each day, even tho I don't always get to. To me, it means a new day, yesterday's gone, a chance to start over.

"Sunrise" features:
separated/spaced forum categories
XHTML 1.0 Transitional (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.themesbydesign.net%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fstyleid%3D9 9&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0)
90% original images
Includes a "thanks" button for the Post Thank You modification
a color-coordinated smiley set, replacing the default smilies ** (see below)LIVE DEMO (http://www.themesbydesign.net/forums/index.php?styleid=99)

Installation Instructions
Download the zip file to your computer and extract it (I put it on my desktop, it's easier to remember where I put it. I do suggest moving the zip after installation to a folder on your computer so you have it as a back-up - just in case https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/ ).
Open your ftp client to your server. Go to your forum's images folder, open it, and create a styles folder.
Next, upload the sunrise folder via FTP to the styles folder, so that your image path is images/styles/sunrise/buttons, for example.
If you do use the enclosed color-coordinated smilies, simply upload the smilies folder via ftp, and overwrite your existing smailies. The image names are the same. * see below
After you've uploaded the images, open your admin control panel on your forum, and import the xml file, by going to Styles & Templates > Download / Upload styles > Import Style XML File.
Click on the Browse button, locate the xml file for sunrise, and double-click it so that it loads in that box, then hit the Import button. If you have any questions, or run into any snags, please post your question here, do not PM me. You may be helping someone else as well. https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/

Enjoy the Sunrise! http://www.themesbydesign.net/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

* if you use more than one theme on your forum, you may not want to upload these smilies unless they also match your other themes. All of your styles use just one set of smilies, unfortunately.

** Thanks go to GreenSmilies.com (http://www.greensmilies.com/), and to the author/designer of this set of smilies for granting me permission to package them with this style!

*** NOTE - this style has been updated to 3.7.3

Don't forget to click "Mark as Installed"!!

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what could be causing this. I've had this installed on 3 different forums and have not seen this problem.

EDIT: I went back to my designs forum and my developement forum, deleted the style from the forum and re-imported the xml.
It is fine. I cannot duplicate the problem you're having, so I can't find a fix for it.

Okay, I have a question ;)

I'm getting a Google Adwords bar under the title. Did you add this or is it something I coded in and promptly forgot about?

Thanks again!

(btw, the auction ads are really great on supporting the site. I can't believe how much it generates each month! Thanks again for that hint!)

I got it up and working. I love it. One problem, the "last post" column is bigger than the others and stretches out sideways and makes it look off. Is this normal is there someting I am missing?

in your ACP, go to vBulletin Options, Forum Listings Display Options, and scroll down to Last Thread Title Maximum Displayed Characters. This number should not be above 30. I like to keep mine around 20.

hope you could fix this error sir i like this themesYou have all of your forums at top level without a parent forum. For most styles to work correctly, you need to have a parent forum for each forum - the parent forum will be the category.

In your AdminCP >> Forums & Moderators >> Forums Manager, you can edit your forums. Simply create a parent forum and set that parent as a "CATEGORY" by setting "Act as Forum" to No. Then every forum in that category needs to be a child forum by making that category its parent forum.

I'm not sure that I explained this clearly, I'm not real good at that.
