What is the Adsense Leaderboard?

This is a port of my previous template modification for vBulletin 3.6.x (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=157918) to vBulletin 3.7.x; this modification places a Google Adsense 728 x 90 Leaderboard Ad Unit under the navigation bar on all vBulletin-powered pages that call the navbar, except for Forumhome (index). The integration of the Google Adsense is placed in a simple, elegant, style-compliant box. Unlike my previoous modification, this one makes use of the new vBulletin 3.7 Ad Templates.

If you use this template modification and enjoyed it, please:

Mark this Modification as Installed (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/vborg_miscactions.php?do=installhack&threadid=190052)

How to Install

In Admin CP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Edit Templates, edit the ad_navbar_below template, and insert the following:

<if condition="THIS_SCRIPT != 'index'">
<table class="tborder" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1" border="0" width="100%" align="center" style="border-bottom-width: 0px">
<tr><td class="alt1" align="center">
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "your-pub-id-here";
google_ad_width = 728;
google_ad_height = 90;
google_ad_format = "728x90_as";
google_ad_type = "text";
google_color_border = "222222";
google_color_bg = "222222";
google_color_link = "FFB019";
google_color_text = "D7CEA4";
google_color_url = "D7CEA4";
//-->
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script>
</td></tr>
</table>
<br />
</if>

Simply replace the "your pub id here" reference above with your Google Adsense Publisher ID, and customize the google_color scheme to match the link, text, and background colors of your site (preferrably matching up with link, alt1 text, and alt1 background). Then, you're all set! Please remember, that if you enjoy this modification and would like to encourage me to release other stylish Adsense integrations, please mark this modification as installed (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/vborg_miscactions.php?do=installhack&threadid=190052). Thank you!

I'm showing page generation on 0.04 seconds. Maybe you accessed it during one of our scheduled cron/backups. Your sites, on the other hand, all time-out.

Thanks for the support, everyone. Please remember to mark this add-on as installed (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/vborg_miscactions.php?do=installhack&threadid=190052) and I will be glad to release other Adsense template contributions.

So is it bad to have Adsense on the forum index page?

So is it bad to have Adsense on the forum index page?
Yes, for two reasons:

1. Google won't generate relevant advertising on your front page because its too varied and there's often insufficient information to push relevant advertising.

2. It clutters up space for one of the lowest return-on-real-estate points for your website.
