So far there are 124 marked installations of this mod in v3.7.x (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=178064)

No modification is required if you have installed this mod in 3.7.x and upgrading now to 3.8.x

Even in this little community (http://www.topsynergy.net/), we are getting around three request each week from members to send them their forgotten password.

Without questioning too much why hasn't the second-to-none vBulletin provide so far the extra "Forgot Password?" link in NavBar, here's a simple template edit to provide better accessibility to the Forgot Password page:

In this new version 1.1, we've also added a Join Us link on the same line thanks to gbechtel (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/member.php?u=108649)'s great suggestion.

Instructions for fresh install:

Search for the following script in navbar template:

<td><input type="submit" class="button" value="$vbphrase[log_in]" tabindex="104" title="$vbphrase[enter_username_to_login_or_register]" accesskey="s" /></td>
</tr>

and enter below the following code:

<!-- Forgot Password Line Starts -->
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<a style="font-size:8pt; color: red;" href="login.php?do=lostpw">Forgot Password?</a>
</td>
<td style="text-align: right;">
<a style="font-size:8pt; color: red;" href="register.php">Join Us!</a>
</td>
</tr>
<!-- Forgot Password Line Ends -->

;) You can replace the color expression "color: red;" to any other color that you like. Here's a nice html color table (http://www.w3schools.com/HTML/html_colornames.asp).

;) You may also like to set another font size in the expression "font-size:8pt;" to: font-size:9pt;, font-size:10pt; etc.

Instructions for upgrade from previous version:

Search for the following script in navbar template:

<!-- Forgot Password Line Starts -->

and replace everything from the start tag to the end with:

<!-- Forgot Password Line Starts -->
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<a style="font-size:8pt; color: red;" href="login.php?do=lostpw">Forgot Password?</a>
</td>
<td style="text-align: right;">
<a style="font-size:8pt; color: red;" href="register.php">Join Us!</a>
</td>
</tr>
<!-- Forgot Password Line Ends -->

That's all there is to it folks :)

Please do not forget to rate, mark installed, or even nominate (not for this elementary mode but for filling in on an importent issue) :)

Hi shlomot,
I installed your mod and like it. My only suggestion, instead of using the color name "red" I think it would be better to use the color code #FF0000, as the name is not valid xhtml and the code is.
Thank you very much for the great mod and best regards
Janfri

Blush... blush... thank you, DobieGillis so much; your kind words mean the world to me. I still have about two years worth of development to finish the current phase :(

P.S. Please click install (and maybe vote) if indeed you have installed this MOD.

I would hesitate to offer my services for a sidewide development, but if it is some added functionality that you need - I'd can either quote you on that or just propose a nice clean way to go about it yourself.

P.S. Here's (http://www.fetishrings.com) another pure vB site of mine. Just beware - it's a heavy duty adult site.

Why do people never post screenshots anymore? They always post a link to their forum as a demo, which half the time is either offline, or by the time you go to look at it the forum has changed (as in this case).

To preview this I ended up editing the HTML using Firefox Web Developer Toolbar. Here's how it looked:
95008

I'm assuming thats how it's meant to look.

Which begs the question, why doesn't it look that way on the demo site anymore? Why was it removed?

Thanks for pointing it out. I have reset the navbar template after uninstalling a MOD and forgot all about this script. Embarrassing, isn't it. Now it's back in place. Thanks again.

Great hack!

How can I add default Vbulletin hover to links "forgot password" and "Join us!"?

By "hover", I guess you mean mouse over. please be more specific and detailed.

After changing around some code this mod works for the genises theme now:

<table><!-- Forgot Password Line Starts -->
<tr>
<td colspan="2">

Hi there,

I translated the script for Arabic users.

<!-- Forgot Password Line Starts -->
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<a style="font-size:8pt; color: red;" href="login.php?do=lostpw"> هل نسيت كلمة المرور؟</a>
</td>
<td style="text-align: right;">
<a style="font-size:8pt; color: red;" href="register.php">إنضم معنا!</a>
</td>
</tr>
<!-- Forgot Password Line Ends -->

thank you Shlomot for this Mod.

I have added rel no follow for SEO purposes to all links and also I have used the phrases built in VB so no need to translate a thing. Hope it helps:

<!-- Forgot Password Line Starts -->
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<a style="font-size:8pt; color: red;" href="./forum/login.php?do=lostpw" rel="nofollow">$vbphrase[forgotten_your_password]</a>
</td>
<td style="text-align: right;">
<a style="font-size:8pt; color: red;" href="./forum/register.php" rel="nofollow"> $vbphrase[register]</a>
</td>
</tr>
<!-- Forgot Password Line Ends -->
