I can't test my themes on my main installation of vbulletin since it modified too much. It looks fine on my testing server. Anyways, let me know if it works.

The nav bar is incorrectly sized with respect to the tabs and the font (way too large on both counts). The search window is too low, runs in to the nav bar and below it.

Yes, your right. I couldn't find a configuration that would fix the navigation bar with the search when trying to duplicate what speedmotiv.com had done with their search. I believe vbulletin has not configured stylevars to cope with these unique designs yet. It would require custom coding and I don't have the time to get this perfect, and something that definately doesn't have to be fixed immediately.

You can change the width to 100% by going to stylevars and removing the doc_margin parameters I have set in place.

Ah, I see. This problem is not occuring on my side however which is strange. You can change the text of the widgets by going to stylevars > CMS > find one that ends in color, see which one is white. Change it accordingly.

Also I will use your site as the demo site. (more traffic.) Let me know if you decide to change the theme.

Also one question I have for you, Did the search fit right into the navbar, or did you do a modification to it. On my test site, the search does not fit into it just right.

Right click on the image and "Copy Image Location." Then post that link into notepad. That will tell you where the current image is on your server and simply just switch it. I will be updating this theme soon to fix some things as well.

P.S es-league, I'm looking at your site, your header seems the same on every page. You may also want to try the full size speedmotiv version with yours since you have such a large logo.

Awesome style, I am using this as my default.

I plan on donating in return for your contribution, but before I do so may I please ask that you fix these bugs:

Whenever I hover my mouse over menus that have an additional drop down, the background color is dark and as you can see makes reading the gray font very difficult.
(Suggestion: Make the font white whenever it is hovered over)

https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/

Similar principle here, whenever I have a notification the background color is too dark to clearly read the font.
(Suggestion: Make font white whenever there is a new notification)
(Ignore the yellow honda classifieds box, it accidentally got into my screenshot as it was a hover over alt box)

http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/3983/screenshot20100118at103l.png

Another similar principle of a hard to see color scheme. Whenever a user is not logged in, the Help and Register font colors are way too dark against the dark background.
(Suggestion: Make the font white)

And why is the Remember me (and checkbox) outside of the box? The box seems big enough to place that right below the username and password forms. Please move it up there as so, and change the font color to white so it won't be hard to see.

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/6928/screenshot20100118at103s.png

Could you please align the searchbox to the middle of the rectangle it is in. It seems to be too far up.

http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/143/screenshot20100118at105.png

Also, why are the main buttons (Forum, What's New?) so big regarding their vertical size. Could you please shrink them a little bit.

Thanks, and awaiting to hear back from you.

Okay, I'll check it out again.

But looking at your site, the help and register buttons are the same gray font color as the balloon they are in, and only become white upon the mouse hover. Can you make them white without having to put the mouse over them? Otherwise they are hidden, and hiding the register button isn't too appealing to me.

Thanks for the quick edits, I just donated.

I am just trying to tweak and make sure all the color schemes are easily seen. Could you tweak these parts:

http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/5284/redu.png

When the mouse is hovered over, the font obviously becomes red. Could you just leave it white, just like the other drop down menus remain white when hovered upon (to the right of it). Red on that shade of gray becomes not that easily seen on low brightness monitors.

Sort of the same principle here:

http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/5277/screenshot20100122at112.png

The white font that doesn't have the black rectangle around becomes sort of out of focus on low brightness displays. Maybe making the font black will give it better contrast.

The same thing to the "Remember Me" font when the user isn't logged in.

Thank you sir.

daveaite
23 Jan 2010, 04:11
Thanks for the donation.

I have fixed your requests as well.

One thing to note:

The top links color is always going to be the same color as the "Register color" so Changing that to black will make it more visible from inside, but the register will be black, which is semi less visible with the current background. I can change that background color of the tab, but it will affect the color of that nav tab box. that surrounds [community] drop down. Right now it blends with the background. You can see the demo before downloading to see what I'm talking about.

Thanks for working with me Dave.

Seems like we ran into another small bug though, when there is a notification the background color surrounding the link is too dark...

http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/7723/54418940.jpg

Could you also change the font on the login button to white and bold (instead of black) for better clarity?

And I by far prefer the register and help font links to be white then black...

Thanks again for taking the time to tweak this style for perfection.

I love this style, great job! It is very clean and sleek looking...

However i do have a slight problem. Keep in mind that I'm new to this sort of thing. Lloaded it fine, but it will not take on my CMS page. My forum and Blog page adapts well. Is there something that I'm over looking to get my CMS page to accept the style?

i even went to the CMS page and in the style sector chose the style and it would not change to it. I'm sure therre is something I need to do that I'm ignorant to, but i was hoping if someone could shed some light on it for me...

However, I have a few stylevar questions for this current theme which I just can't seem to find, I would appreciate your assistance if you please could.

How do I change the text color of the navigation breadcrumb?
If you aren't sure by what I mean, this is the clickable section that shows you the directory of the forum category and subcategories you are currently in.

Also, how do I change the hoverover text color, regarding the tabs when viewing a member's profile?

Thanks

I wish you would stop ignoring me. You selectively answer to my PMs.

When my mouse is hovering over, the font in the tab becomes red and the text is not visible. Do you have a solution?

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/9044/screenshot20100213at225.png

And I brought up this problem to you previously, you stated that is a problem with vBulletin 4 Gold. Well, not so. I am using 4.0.2 PL1 and If I switch back to the default vBulletin style this problem does not exist.

See how the tables overlap? This happens in Internet Explorer. For some users, the overlapping is much more extreme (maybe it depends on the screen resolution?) and a lot of text is cut off.

http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/8554/31593503.jpg

If you are not up to the task of fixing these errors, please just state so instead of ignoring me. I donated to help your contribution to the community, even though it was not much I still like to think of the principle.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hey, sorry, I get alot of pms, not only from vbulletin, but from my own sites as well. That along with 4 different emails and responding to inquiries from over 10 theme threads to respond to. I'm not purposely ignoring you. Just overwhelmed at times with these questions. I've been also building stylevars.com to prevent less questions from being asked and just having people refer to that, which saves alot of time from my side and your side. On top of that I'm in my senior year of engineering at fsu, trying to finish up my bachelors degree and my senior design project among other school related classes.

The overlapping boxes, I'll take a look at tonight along with the hover over red tab. Also, questions in pms about specific themes are better asked in forum threads so that I don't have to answer the same questions in PMs as I do in threads. Removes redundancies. Thanks for posting it here, I'll get back to you soon either with an update or a response.

daveaite
26 Feb 2010, 02:34
Okay. Currently this is how the tabs are set up.

Part 1: Profile tabs
-Whatever the stylevars is for the navtab will be the same styling for profiletabs. So the stylevars for the both tabbing is the same. I'll have to edit the hardcoding of the css to get it to work.

Fixed

Part 2. Overlapping

Does not occur in Firefox.
In windows explorer it might..but thats not a theme issue, thats a vbulletin issue. This theme does not control or affect any of the functions of vbulletin software...i.e the way it performs according to window size etc.

So whether vBulletin will fix this glitch in I.Explorer, thats up to them. I hear they are having some compatibility problems with internet explorer. So this issue will only be fixed when they fix it, and the theme should "fix itself" when they do that.

Seems I have a similar problem - the color of the text in the forumtitles is the same color as the background :-(

Hopefully there's a fix. Is this skin still supported?

Edit: Since I did not want this to hinder the usability of site, I started poking around and found the fix.

Go to Stylevars and find "toplinks_form_input" under the "Header" column

Will this fix the color issue in the forumtitles as well?

Yeah, that "toplinks_form_input" did not address the issue of the forumtitles colors.

Loving the theme. One slight problem though. I went through this thread and didn't see a fix unless I glanced over it.

The category names aren't showing up?

Otherwise thank you for this great style. Greatly appreciated.

daveaite,

Love your skins. Thanks for providing it.

One problem though, the 'Go Advanced' button for post editing does not work. I'm running vBulletin 4.1.1. I've isolated the problem to the skin because 'Go Advanced' works fine using the default skin.

Can you provide with any direction on how to fix this? Thanks.

Great theme, I've set it as my current default:)

One slight glitch is that near the bottom of the main forum page, where it says "Currently Active Users", it usually has some stats followed by the usernames of whoever is online. Instead of the usernames, it simply says "Array"???

Could you please fix this?

Thanks;)

Go into the admin CP>>>Style Manager>>>Select stylevars for this style from the menu to the right hand side, and click Go

Then search for "Forumhead Color" (or scroll down to it), then change the color to whatever you like (I chose white, to go with the dark background)

Hey,

The title of the category for forums is supposed to be white to be visible but it is not. Can you tell me how to change the text color in the title so that the titles for my forum categories are white in that black bg.

Example:

Forum Category Title: This is the title of the category! and is what needs color change.

This is the only bad thing about free templates sometimes. It is not uncommon for the creator to put it on his back burner if fixes need to be implemented. Unless you are an expert with vBulletin styles I suggest you consider looking into a better supported style. Just picture this scenario I am currently in, you upgrade your vBulletin and your large forum is half operational due to the style creator not releasing an updated style to go with the newest vBulletin version. It is a shame, as this is a style I very much so like. So much so, that I originally even donated to the creator upon initial installation.
