Anything is possible if you want too. Do you have actual link to forum so we can take a quick look ?

You want to change the background of the forums that are just links? You'll have to edit the template and add a class to the row and then define the class to have a different background color. ie:
<li id="forum{vb:raw forum.forumid}" class="forumbit_post L2 <vb:if condition="$forum['statusicon'] != 'link'">forumlink</vb:if>">

Then define .forumlink {background:pink;}

You just add the CSS to the additional.css template

i put this in additional.css:
.forumlink {background-color:#6495ed;}

and:
<li id="forum{vb:raw forum.forumid}" class="forumbit_post L2 <vb:if condition="$forum['statusicon'] != 'link'">forumlink</vb:if>">
in forumhome_forumbit_level2_post

but is not working :(

Actually, I think it would be "equals" (==), not "not equals" (!=) (I had just copied the condition in there) But, if you had done what you said, then I would expect that you would see something different.

Are you sure you edited the correct template? How about a link to this page on your site.

I don't think you changed the correct template. I think that is a nopost template, not a post template. (My post above was an *example* of how to add this to the class, it had nothing to do with which template to change.)

To find the template to modify, do this - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code. (Sometimes the template is the one mentioned at the very top of the page source.)

doesnt work in the way you explained

what i notice is if you change :
<li class="forumbit_nopost L2" id="cat{vb:raw forum.forumid}">

to

<li class="forumlink" id="cat{vb:raw forum.forumid}">

look like this, but i dont like the way the text its:

Exactly which template are you modifying? And exactly what did you try regarding adding the class that I specified? I'd like to try the same thing on my test board, but I need to know exactly what you've done first.

TO LOOK LIKE THIS:
http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/3976/vb3.jpg
I MADE THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATIONS:
in forumhome_forumbit_level2_nopost template:
i changed :
<li class="forumbit_nopost L2" id="cat{vb:raw forum.forumid}">
in
<li class="forumlink" id="cat{vb:raw forum.forumid}">

i put in additional.css :
.forumlink {
clear:both;
background-color:#d6fdde;
background-image:url('http://talkpoint.ro/images/misc/forumic.jpg');
background-repeat:no-repeat;
background-position:2% 5%;
position:relative;
display:block;

margin-right:-2px;
border-left: 3px solid #C4C4C4;
margin-left:-2px;
border-right: 1px solid #C4C4C4;
border-bottom: 1px solid #C4C4C4;
}

.forumrow L2
{
padding: 0 0 0 20px;
clear:both;
}
.forumdata
{
padding: 0 0 0 68px;
clear:both;
}

take a look and maybe we will improve :D
