Hi everyone,

I am relatively new to vBulletin and I was wondering if someone could help me? I would like to remove the image as a header and have plain text if possible and I was unsure how to do this.

The next thing is a little bigger job than I though, I would like to have live twitter feed in to my site on the right of the home page where the latest pists are and things, is there anyway I can do this?

Regards,

Dean

To make it all text, you will need to edit the header template and replace it there. I would guess to just replace this text:
<img src="{vb:stylevar titleimage}" data-orig-src="{vb:stylevar titleimage}" alt="{vb:phrase logo}" title="{vb:phrase powered_by_vbulletin_title}" />
I've never tried that, so I have no idea what it will do to the Site Builder when you go to edit the header.

Sure you can do it if you can code it or if you find a modification for it. Try the search box in the upper right.

Thanks for the quick reply! However, this did not work, it didn't come up with anything for some reason. I have uploaded a picture of what i would like if possible.

I just did it on mine and it works just fine -

If something doesn't work, it is import to post *exactly* what you did so we can point out what you did wrong.

I appreciate your help Lynne. I have attached the code below, I got this from:

Admin CP > Style Manager > Edit Templates > header

<div class="site-logo header-edit-box">
<a href="{vb:raw baseurl}/"><title="{vb:phrase powered_by_vbulletin_title}" /></a>
</div>

Please do not post the whole template code. It is against our rules and it makes it very difficult to see what you did. We only need to see the code you changed.

<title="anything here" /> is not valid html to spit out some text (it is valid in the <head> tags to define the page title). Just put the {vb:phase whatever} in there.

Sorry to be a pain Lynne but I have changed what you have asked for and have a completely new result :) I have a attached a new screen shot and the code I have inputted.

<div class="site-logo header-edit-box">
<a href="{vb:raw baseurl}/"><"{vb:phrase Up the shakers!}" /></a>
</div>

Is it possible to get the title in a different colour and size + get rid of the title below the alert box? Once this has been done I can go live with the forum.

Dean

"{vb:phrase Up the shakers!}" The above isn't calling a valid phrase hence the reason it looks odd. Replace everything in the quotation marks with the following:

<div class="site-logo header-edit-box">
<a href="{vb:raw baseurl}/">Up the Shakers</a>
</div>

And if you want colors and size, use CSS:

<div class="site-logo header-edit-box">
<a href="{vb:raw baseurl}/" style="color: white; font-size: 16px;" >Up the Shakers</a>
</div>

Thank you so much for the help you have given me so far! It has really helped. I have managed to get the header right, just one more thing left.

How do I get rid of this?

Using the 'Edit Site' toggle along the top, turn on Site Builder. Then proceed to clicking 'Edit Page' from the options that have appeared. Remove the Page Title widget and you should be ready to go.

Thanks for your help shadow, I can't remove the title widget as it says:

"You cannot remove a system module from the page template."

however, I think this is a bug.

I have removed the Page Title widget for you. In future, if you are editing a system template, you must set 'Overwrite Template' to 'No' and give it a name. Because your homepage is now using a non-system template, you can overwrite it freely now.
