View Full Version : Who quoted me?

30 Dec 2002, 21:20
[ Feature Description ]
Many members on my board wanted an easy way to find out when and where they were quoted. Email would have been impractical since it would flood a person's inbox with corny "You have been quoted" messages so I created a hack that lets people keep track of when they were quoted on a forum page.

You can change the number of latest quoted entries to display on the page and installation is pretty simple.

[ What you need to modify/add ]
File to modify: newreply.php
Templates to modify: usercp_forums
Templates to add: whoquotedme, whoquotedmebit
MySQL Queries to run: 1

[ Tested on ]
vBulletin version 2.2.9 (should work on any vB 2.x.x)

[ Example ]

[ To Do List]
-Integration with Admin CP
-Purge data older than x days script

This is an active project of mine and will be updated. Note that I will provide an easy way to upgrade from older versions of this hack. If you install this script, click install up on top. Enjoy, and as always, comments are appreciated!

Looks good :) If I can create a script to add all the existing posts with quotes I might use this one.

Unless doing a search within the content of all posts (which is unreliable) vBulletin doesn't tag which posts have been quoted or not. I might work on a script though that still does it anyway. ;)

Sorry, my mistake. The following below is the query to run. The zip file has been updated too!

CREATE TABLE quotedata (
quoted int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
quoter int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
threadid int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
dateline int(10) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
KEY quoted (quoted)
