Global Rules

1. Staff decisions are final. Ultimately, staff has complete discretion over what is and is not acceptable on the site.
2. Public discussions of staff decisions are not permitted on the site. If you have any concerns or queries relating to a staff decision, please take it up in private with a member of the site administration team.
3. All members must be treated in a respectful and adult manner. All members should respect and adhere to the promotion of harmony within the community. Do not attempt to disrupt the community in any way.
4. No "Flaming". Please do not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest.
5. No "Trolling". Please do not post any topic that disrupts the peace and harmony of this board. Don't create meaningless threads with the sole purpose of starting a dispute. This includes messages in profiles and signatures.
6. No "Spamming". Please do not double post or cross-post the same message in multiple forums. You will not mass-PM or mass-email multiple members of this site with the same message. You will not post for the sake of increasing your post count or "install" count.
7. No "Bumping" (Your threads/posts): Please do not repeatedly bump your threads to try and get attention. Most members of the site are not online 24 hours a day and so will not see your post the instant it is made. Do not bump a thread within 24 hours, and not more than twice a week.
8. No "Bumping" (Other’s threads/posts): Before replying to a thread, take notice of the last post date. Try and avoid replying to posts more than 6 months old. If you have a similar question and cannot find the answer, create your own thread. Generally speaking, due to the progression of vBulletin development, a post more than 6 months old is more than likely going to be for an older version of vBulletin.
9. No Offensive Material. Please do not post messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, and/or otherwise violate of any local or international laws. This includes links in your signature, profile, posted images, photos and avatars. Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.
   Please note that this is a PG-13 rated site and therefore is meant to suitable for all ages, including under 13s with parental guidance/permission.
10. No spreading of any copyrighted material (vBulletin or other) is to take place on this site without the expressed permission of the copyright holder, which must be attached to the material. For example, you cannot upload complete vBulletin files. Partial code is permitted, as long as it is solely for the location of the correct place in the code. Any copyrighted code snippets should be no more than 10 lines in length, unless approved by a member of Staff.
11. No Trading: This site is not a market place. You may not sell or solicit to purchase any product or software anywhere on this forum. You may request paid services only in the "Request for Paid Services" forum.
12. You may not post any plugin, product, style, or other code that is encrypted in any way. All code must be visible source.
13. No affiliate links may be posted anywhere on vbulletin.org nor be included in any mod code or template. Affiliate links are links with unique code to give you credit or financial gain when a user clicks on it. This includes not using "URL Shortening" for links to any sites with potential for affiliate credit.
14. All posts, mods, and styles must be in English. If you do not speak English please use a translator before posting. Translation to other languages may be posted for mods in which the author has approved translations.
15. All add-ons must be uploaded to vbulletin.org, not links to files on other sites.
16. No posting messages anywhere on this site that are primarily for the promotion or advertising of any website, forums, email address, business, MLM, activity, or other entities that you have an affiliation with (ie. no self-promotion).

Commercial/Paid Modifications

12. Discussion of commercial modifications is permitted on the forums at vBulletin.org as long as they are discussed with no promotion. Any promotional threads will be closed and/or deleted on sight.
13. Promotion of commercial modifications is not allowed.
14. Commercial modification authors are not permitted to create threads regarding their own products or promote their products in any way, shape or form, or to encourage another user to do so.
15. Lite versions of commercial modifications are permitted to be released here as long as:
    1. It is a working modification
    2. It is not time limited in any way
    3. It is completely free to the user
    4. It is stand alone and completely separate to the full version
    5. A single link back to the commercial version is permitted, as long as no pricing or promotional language is used in the link or embedded into the lite version.
16. Add-ons for commercial modifications may be released here providing a free version has been released here and:
    1. It is fully functional
    2. It is not time limited in any way
    3. It is completely free to the user
17. Non commercial vBulletin modifications that integrate independent commercial software into vBulletin are permitted, providing the modification release thread is not created to promote sales of the commercial product. (Independent products are software that can be run without needing vBulletin.)
