Yep confirmed not working with 4.0.4 - seems vbulletin have introduced their own image resizer through stylevars and stuffed up all of the plugin versions. Hope you can help with this!

where's the option for the resizer onto the 4.0.4? i can't find it ...

graham_w 19 Jun 2010 12:22

Its in Stylevars

postbit_content_max_image_width

I set it to 50% so the images from external sites that are displayed are never larger than 50% of the viewers post area - but would prefer to use this mod to control the height also.

yes absolutely ...

Mrdby 19 Jun 2010 13:39

works GREAT!

pant 19 Jun 2010 13:43

Is this mod needed any more after the release of 4.04, apparently there is a stylevar we can modify which will do the same thing as this out of the box?

meschiash 19 Jun 2010 17:42

Doesn't work on 4.0.4 :(

Just upgraded to 4.04. Resizing stopped working. Could you look into this please? Really like this hack! Thanks.

As posted by Graham, you can turn this mod off now and instead use your stylevar to modify the pictures by default.

AdminCP > styles & templates > style manager > stylevars

postbit_content_max_image_width

I personally don't like the inbuilt vbulletin option.

It doesn't allow you to specify a max height, also you cannot click to see the full image.

Give me this mod over the vbulletin option anytime.

No it doesn't. :( Maybe need to remove the reference to the new vbulletin option in the css which may restore functionality to this mod ? I will have a play a bit later.

graham_w 21 Jun 2010 02:16

Scrap that - I removed some code from the postbit.css and the mod now works on the blogs but not in posts ... still looking for a solution.

graham_w 21 Jun 2010 03:12

Well I have to leave for the afternoon, but I have so far found that removing the following code from postbit.css will stop the inbuilt vbulletin resizer from working, and allows this mod to work again - but it only appears to work in the blogs and not in the posts. I'm using postbit legacy, but perhaps someone can confirm it doesn't work in postbit also ? There must be something i'm missing - anyone have any ideas?

There is a built in resizer now?

graham_w 21 Jun 2010 20:36

Yep - controlled by Stylevars

postbit_content_max_image_width

But it doesnt resize blog, only post images.

Alex@Mk3OC 21 Jun 2010 21:55

Fixed this in 4.0.4

I removed the following code from postbit.css:

The re-installed the product xml file and it works again :)

Any chance of having a setting so that users can set their own preference for the image re-sizer? As we have users on a wide variety of resolutions

Staircase 26 Jun 2010 15:05

I downloaded it, but I don't have the JS file... ?? The folder I have after unzipping contains two files: product-sevenskins_imageresizer-v1.0.2.xml and SevenSkins.url. No ncode_imageresizer.js.

Seven Skins 26 Jun 2010 18:51

^ lol .. forgot to add that in the new zip file. Anways it has been added.

I tried to make this mod as light as possible. If I add that it will be adding queries.

how about to give the choice between px or % just like the VB resizer?

with % its relative to resolution of the client.

Appreciated. vB4 is more resource hungry than vB3 to begin with, in my experience. Anything that adds more queries than absolutely necessary should be avoided.

pant 26 Jun 2010 19:40

Using the style var method but set to 100% of users width works a charm.

graham_w 26 Jun 2010 22:55

Any chance of having seperate settings for signatures - not all users use the [sigpic] code for images in signatures so ALL images are being resized.

I don't think this mod resized images in signatures previously ? Or was there a setting to allow it ?

Cheers

Veer 27 Jun 2010 03:10

Please add seperate settings for blogs and cms as well.

Hello there,

make sure that the Max width for postbit images stylevar is set to a higher value than the one in the SevenSkins mod .!

Go to Styles & Templates >> Style Manager >> StyleVars >> Postbit >> Max width for postbit images and set it to a high value (e.g 1000) ..

That shouldmake it work ..

open the .js file in a text editor and find it. It's in there only once. Then reupload that file

Kaosvf 02 Jul 2010 11:03

When I go to "Search phrases" and translate (Click this bar to ... etc) then no longer works.

pant 02 Jul 2010 21:27

Can I just say AGAIN, I used to use this but since VB now gives me the option to resize pictures to fit within the users window I just use that instead.

Check this post as an example, the actual picture is bigger than my screen anyway but it doesn't spill out any more.

Via the stylevar system, post picture maximum width or something similar, works a treat.

Yellow Slider 03 Jul 2010 13:24

how does vB4 re-sizes attachments on it self? it just let us set a max' width \ height to the attachments, I don't want to limit users from uploading attachments, I just want to show the attachments without ruining the page.

pant 03 Jul 2010 13:30

Go into your stylevars and start typing postbit_content_max image, when that begins to appear click on it.

I have mine set % 100 this means that it will completely fill the post box but not spill outside, works a charm and means less plugins.

thats working for all of the images, I just want to have to option to resize (and enlarge) attachments too.

Oooooooooo not sure about that one now, maybe someone else will know the appropriate stylevar.

Try just typing image into the stylevar thingy and see what comes up.

This is happening to me now too, but only since upgrading to 4.0.5.

Any idea how to make it go back to just regular enlarging, and not making it enlarge inside the table itself and making the horizontal scroll bar appear?

Oh and yeah, if you go to "go advanced" or quote them, it doesn't work. But that isn't of major concern to me.

Thanks for that.

I messed around with this for a while & then i saw your post.

I uninstalled this plug-in & edited the stylevars file to display %100 & all the pictures on my forum display perfectly in different resolutions.

Also, if you want to see the picture in its original size when using the new built in vbulletin image resizing, simply Right Click On The Picture & Select ( View Image )

I hope that helps some of you
