Installed successfully. Now when I try to add a post I get this:

Will this do anything with blocking and or with the easy-cleanup feature for removing blog spam?

vb has really poor built in tools for managing blog spam, its a problem in need of a solution.

I have this installed on V 4.1.11 and it does not move members from the new-be group to the registered group. They are to be moved at 8 posts but I have some with 50+ and there still in the new-be group. What can we do about this???

Their has to be a way to do this I just have one Super Moderator that I want to be able to view the Logs to see who and why they were banned, however I dont want them to have full Admin CP access. I tried adding there user id to config.php that did nothing anyone have any ideas ??

Well what I did was make the Moderator a Admin then took away all the permissions that he didn't need that seems to work, Shouldn't have anything in there he can hurt

Everything was out of place. It was impossible to "navigate" on the forum.

I'll take the risk of installing it again and make a printscreen of the result.

I suppose that you got to reupload the folders to your webspace as there is a new function available in the AdminCP, I can't imagine that this will work with only adding code to the product.xml^^ Do so and you are on the safe side. (lol this idiom is the same in English as in German xD)

Everything was working prior to upgrading the plugin

I installed the 4.2 upgrade and everything is back to normal.

Two feature requests:

More flexible "Override" permissions. ie: I'd like to deny my moderators from permanently deleting, but still let them choose what criteria to delete.

And, allow Admins to have full control over the moderator tool regardless of override settings.

I have been running this a couple weeks now and it works very well
The question I have is it normal to be viewing whos online and see that there is 6 or 7 people trying to register quite often
It seems like my board is attracting alot of spammers is there a way to cut it down for instance adding no bots like i would on a web page
If so what can I do ?

Ive just installed this and when I tried to moderate a spam posts, clicked Spam-O-Matic then clicked Proceed button, nothing appeared as in empty page.

Am I missing something?

I have v4.2.0 and didn't see any installation errors.

After installing SOM ( 2.0.1 ) on my fresh copy of VB 4.2 it worked great until the new upgrade came out.. Upgrading it started to cause functions_newpost.php(532) : eval()'d code on line 26 errors so I simply uninstalled and re-installed it which solved all the problems.. This by far is the best Spam Add-On I have ever seen..

Hey guys,

I am regularly getting emails from people with difficulty registering. They get the following error:

Username check - enabled
Email check - enabled

Akismet and StopForumSpam are all enabled

This guy trying to register was going for the username, "Timm". Someone else also had an issue and their username as was "asfii". I'm thinking the dual letters is somehow throwing a trigger on the Username check?

I still get a LOT of spam registerations - probably 10 per day - luckily all with links under post count of 5 get auto moderated so I have a chance to review, but it's still a pain in the ass and didn't exist before.

What are other options to prevent false registrations?

Take a look at the logs and you will see exactly what is triggering the blocked registrations. I recommend to turn off username checks and turn on IP checks for the best results.

Enable email and IP check and disable username check and that will stop the majority of your problem.

I wonder if they are getting smarter. I had IP and eMail turned on earlier and still getting 8 - 10 registrations per day like this:

I have Remote IP Expiry set at 45. I bumped it down after I thought I had some false positives on IP. ... what's a good number people are using?

That is the plug-in manager.

%3F is hex for ?
%3D is hex for =

plugin.php%3Fdo%3Dproduct becomes - ...plugin.php?do=product

You should be able to reach plug-in manager with that URL. The page you posted looks like a default search page that loads when the URL is invalid. Seems like a URL decoding problem.

I usually see for plug-in mgr -
..admincp/plugin.php?do=product (but no index.php here) -

..admincp/index.php?loc=plugin.php?do=product

Do you see "GlowHost - Spam-O-Matic Log" under "Statistics & Logs" in ACP?

Try pasting (for the log): ...admincp/glowhostspamomatic.php

Did that URL come up for Stats & Logs/Glowhost or Plugin Manager?

If the latter, I suggest uninstalling, then reinstalling the XML.

It seems very odd to me that the URL for plug-in manager with hex chars no less is coming up for the Glowhost log.

No problems FTP'ing the modules up?

glowhostspamomatic.php is located in your /admincp directory?

functions_ghsom.php " " in /includes dir?

cpnav_glowhostspamomatic.xml " " in /includes/xml dir?

Then you installed product-glowhostspamomatic.xml via ACP Plug-in Manager?

Do I need to clear my Spam O Matic Logs? and if so is it just hitting the restart button in the ACP
when viewing the logs.....

Clearing the log is not a prerequisite to 2.1.0 upgrade.

"Restart" is tantamount to running glowhostspamomatic.php, i.e., it returns you to the GlowHost - Spam-O-Matic Log Viewer & Log Pruning selection menu.

If you wish to clear the log or remove old log entries, enter the desired number of days & prune the log.

Hi to all
two little suggestions:

1) Add to banned group the spammer that are trying to registering. Until now it's possible block the registration or logger
2) Allow to see the stats only to some groups. I would like to hide the stats to registered user.

What do you think? :)

I started reading backwards for an answer but gave up.

I recently installed Spam-O-Matic. I'm not seeing anything in the log.

I turned on vbStopForumSpam and see registration attempts every few minutes.

I'm assuming Spam-O-Matic is working but why no log?
I only have one program running at a time.

What log are you looking at? The GlowHost log is in Admin CP under Statistics & Logs on our site.

I cant tell you why, I'm no coder. I suspect it's because the other mods are checking spammer info before the registration.

This one works basically just like the ones I mentioned. Try disabling that mod and see if SOM starts logging rejected spammers.

Appears to be working now although didn't block an ip address.
Seems that a lot of ip addresses are not getting blocked.
At no fault of this mod.

vbSFS wasn't blocking a lot of ip addresses either.

vbSFS wasn't blocking a lot of ip addresses either.

SOM will tell you in the log if it rejected the IP or email address. Also make sure you have names turned off in your setups.

I look at ip and email addresses.
Two ip addresses where approved although spammers and they were not in the SFS database which I find odd.

Just installed on vbulletin 4.2.0 and when I go to a users detail in the admin CP and select Spam-O-matic -remove and ban user I get this:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/admincp/glowhostspamomatic.php on line 108

Copied everything from UPLOAD folder to the directory where my forum is.
