In your example, [url=something] should trigger a moderation provided you have:

[url

...in the bad words list.

A user typing something.com would not trigger a moderation because you would need:

something.com

...to be in the bad word list exactly written as you'd like to be moderated.

There is no partial match support outside of the [url and [img tags

Chadi 03 Apr 2013 19:53

Yea but the .com for example won't work if it were something.com

Can you update the mod to allow that, or disallow links (with or without url) for certain members / usergroups with less than X forum posts?

Thanks

ForceHSS 03 Apr 2013 21:45

Why not put {.com} in your bad word list then rebuild post cache to update all posts

Chadi 03 Apr 2013 22:23

I only want the list applied to users with 100 posts or less.

Yes I noticed that when I took a quick diff of the two files to see what the difference was.

Another product did not cause this conflict, and the reason you aren't experiencing this problem is because this problem was introduced in a recent release. You probably didn't upload the latest files to the correct directory and inadvertently averted this problem.
After seeing your changes I agree another mod isn't causing the problem, but the reason why my site isn't getting the messages, and likely many others aren't as well, is that my site do not delete accounts instead we simple ban them indefinitely instead.

I have been running this program for a few days now, and it has stopped the posting problems. I have noticed one real interesting thing. I have a spammer which I have deleted at least 4 times with glowhost and he is still coming back! Why would that be? He is using the same I.P.. Why would he not be blocked after one, two, three, + deletions?
I would have thought that after using the Spam-o-matic deletion that I.P. should not be allowed to re register.
He uses the same username and I.P. each time.

I can't believe it! Check the time on these posts! NultAccunny has already re registered!

Bluemax712 05 Apr 2013 03:35

Do you have spam-o-matic ban usernames enabled? I think it's disabled by default because of all the registration problems it causes with false positives.

ie - they can get a new IP faster than you can ban them
enabling ban username should shut it down for this username - but it will be a major hassle for other new users trying to register

Best thing would be to enable all new registrations to be approved by mod for a few days - and wait it out - maybe he'll get bored
and ofc be sure to also install good timer-based-registration mod like Spambot Stopper

Try this to ban his host
www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=268208
If that does not work try this and put @emailhost.com in the email banning section so if he uses hotmail it would be @hotmail.com and @hotmail.co.uk

The use is using the same IP each time! That is what I don't understand, I would have thought the program would have submitted the IP as a spammer and not allowed that IP to be used on my site or any other.

I have the vbulletin email verification on.

I may have to consider another vbulletin plug in to work with this one, but I don't like to have too many plugins installed because I have had problems and I have limited knowledge:(
The nature of my site would allow me to simply ban all IPs from certain countries.

By the way, he's back. He shows as registered, and leaves a signature. If he tries to post, spamomatic stops that.

This program will not ban his ip you need to add his ip to the banned list in options if you add the plugins I posted above they will help he won't be back

You didn't answer the question about which blocking options you have enabled for spam-o-matic. If you are unsure take a screen shot showing the complete options page for spam-o-matic, with any ids for askiment, etc, blacked out.

This might help you. Don't remove the user. If you remove the user then vB can't help prevent the new registration.

Set SOM to:

Moderate post

Ban User

In vB don't allow duplicate e-mail addresses. If the IP is a bad IP then ban it in vB. You can also not allow signatures in vB under usergroup permissions. Then create a forum for banned users and don't delete the user, but move the post to that forum. You may keep the forum hidden in forum permissions if you like.

To upgrade this product I would just overwrite the files in the FTP then allow over write with the xml correct? Also will I still have all my pre-sets saved or will they be gone? Thanks! :)
