It does that sometimes dont know why but i have other things in place when it does fail

Maybe stopforumspam.com was briefly down. That does happen, and there are settings in this add on for how to handle it.

I installed Spam-O-Matic a few days ago. For some reason its logging behavior has been intermittent. So far, I've only seen one log instance of "Passed StopForumSpam checks. Sent to vBulletin Registration System" - despite that several new members have joined who are not spammers/spambots. I'm unsure why it seems to miss logging most new registrations. It has, however, been blocking and logging some spambots at least. But I don't think all of its actual blocking events are appearing in the logs, either.
I wish Spam-O-Matic were more dependable/consistent as far as logging goes (so I could see what it's actually doing and not doing). Thankfully its inconsistency is not a major issue for us... because we use it in conjunction with our manual IP blocking technique, together with a few human verification questions. The combination of these things, along with an occasional manual deletion here and there, tend to keep out 100% of the spammers for us. |
Are there plans to create an upgraded version to work with vBulletin 5.x? I love this mod but recently upgraded my forum and now it isn't available to me :(
|
I would like to find a CMS widget which would work with GlowHost which would load when a moderator came onto the forum and tell him that there are posts to be moderated. Maybe there is already one somewhere, but I haven't found it yet.
Thanks |
"This is without a doubt, one of the most important mods that you will be using on your forum."
This is hundred percent true. In a few weeks GlowHost blocked more than 200 known spammers! Thank you very much for designing and maintaining this software. Robert, Amsterdam |

There's two glaring bugs in SoM.
1) If you have "permanently delete" enabled in options it allows anyone, with SoM access, to permanently delete posts even if they do not have the physically delete post or mass prune thread permissions. This is a huge issue. 2) If a member is past the point of SoM monitoring then SoM at the least should put a warning that you are trying to apply SoM, preferable it should just fail, to a member who is past the monitoring phase, before it deletes all the members posts/threads/etc. |
