I'm running 4.1.10

Change the amount of links that may be posted in the AdminCP It's called Auto-Moderation URL count: Also you may move new members to regular members quicker in the settings if you like.

These are my settings. After looking them over a few times it appears to me everything is set right. I must be over looking something.

Thank you

Auto-Moderation: URL Count - 0

Change that setting to the allowed number of URL's they can post.

I changed this to one. I had this set to zero only because we didn't want any new users posting links.

tony,
Try reducing this: Auto-Moderation: Minimum Post Count- 6 Maybe set it to a 2. Then after they make two post they can post links. That will at least give you the opportunity to see if they are posting good or bad information. If that is the case and the number of post to be moderated is 2, then they will be moved into the Registered Members area and be able to post links. If that is the case and what you want to do, then change the number of links back to 0.

Just remember that not bots, but people that are posting information will make a good post at least once. You have to watch out for signatures, so turn them off for newbies.

berryracer,
SOM allows you to create a new user group for your newbies before they are part of the forum. Read about it here: Link to GlowHost

They tell you step by step how to create the new user group that the new members are placed in for SOM to moderate. After the moderation of SOM they are moved to the next usergroup where vB takes over.

I hope that gives you a little better understanding.

Stops my forum getting 50 spam bots a day (from China). Couldn't work without it!

I'm really liking this one

Glockie 11 Apr 2012 17:16

Been using this for a while now and I must say, it's very impressive. I'm getting regular emails and it works a peach.

I do however, have a problem; the Spam-O-Matic statistics no longer update, so I am concerned if anything is wrong.

Any ideas as to what I can do about this?
These are the stats that display on forum home page.

Thanks in advance.

Oh, I think I realise what's happened here, I also have 'Stop the Registration Bots' and I think the two are clashing.
I've since disabled it and will see how it goes!

Hello. I was told to ask you guys "what to do" from Wayne Luke over at VB Tech support.
OK. New users are not showing up as "Users to be modified" any longer.

The same six "users that need to be modified" are always there.
The newest users show up in the "user" section, but don't show up in the Control panel to alert me. Wayne told me it was Glowhost issue. He could not find any other problems.

So.
I have the latest mod, 2.0.2, and so that can't be it...
do you have any ideas?

Truly appreciate your help.
