Great - I have lots of mp3 threads where I had to upload the files due to PHP timeouts, and I would like to assign them to their' rightful owners! :)

Maybe I'm missing something here...why would you need/use this?

One example, is that I use both the "admin" account (for some admincp functions) and also my personal account. Occassionally, I'm accidently logged in as "admin" and reply to a post or start a new thread, this mod would easily enable me to change it to my normal user acct.

I actually looked for this in the standard Vbulletin and was expecting to find it, seems like it is something that would come up fairly often. I'm happy to find this mod and give it a try.

My main account was deleted and the messages created under that account were changed to "Guest". Is there any way to do a mass search and replace on these messages?

Phalynx 12 May 2008 12:07

No, this modification does not work with guest posts.
Instead, you will have to run a query to assign the posts to a user.

Fabsboards 13 May 2008 09:03

It does work on guest posts. I tried it. Problem - I have to do it all manually.

How would I do this with a query?

Super Jinni 18 May 2008 10:53

ok, when change the thread owner, the posts in the threads by the old owner change to the new owner, right?

or they don't change and only the thread changes?

thanks for the good work

Super Jinni 18 May 2008 13:42

ok, I got it

only the first post of the thread will be modified

I have another issue

when I search for all the posts of some user, I can't find the in the options the option of changing posts owner.. but when I search for his threads I can find that option

I've two IDs in my forum and I want to change all the threads and posts in my second ID to the first one.. but when tried doing that when search for all the posts by the user I couldn't find that option..

how can I make the option show in the options of the results of the all user's posts?

I hope you got what I mean ^-^

Super Jinni 18 May 2008 19:14

OK, I got that to work

all what I had to do is just to add the code
Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

after the code
Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

in the "search_results" template

if there is any another way to do that please let me know

I only tested in localhost

Phalynx 18 May 2008 22:37

Great idea, will include this in next version. Thanks!

KURTZ 18 May 2008 22:43

Hi Marius, just wondering, is possible in the next version improve something for the 'reset or change' the IP? cause if i change the thread/post's owner he takes the IP of the older owner ...

Phalynx 18 May 2008 22:50

What IP should be taken? Last known IP of the new owner or the last post IP of the new owner?
