Burt - hehe my old php book was quite simple with variables. my new book introduces them in a whole new light which is so complicated. It took me about 10 times to take it in

Simplified thanks to Excel's godawful boolean functions:

Doesn't make sense what you're trying to do:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

If we were dealing strictly with booleans instead of this stupid PHP typeless system, it would be as blissfully simple as:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

what i'm trying to do is

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

it's basically making sure that either $_REQUEST['p'] or $_REQUEST['postid'] exist, but never neither.

to simplify it, you'd use
Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

* no a xor b as opposed to NOT a xor b
