Description:
At the forum I maintain these are the general measures taken to determine if a new registrant is a spammer: - google username see if it has been used elsewhere and if it has been banned, if there are a lot of results, try searching using: $username vbulletin, or, $username phpbb, or $username forum - go to domain of email address if unfamiliar - google first part of email address - google second part of email address if unfamiliar - check IP on DNS Stuff So, to make it easier for the other admins to check this information I wrote this which basically has quick links to get this information. Refer to the screenshot for more details. In the contained zip file, import the product via 'Manage Products' and upload the rest of the file to their appropiate locations After installing, you'd need to refresh the admincp/modcp area with your browser then look under 'Users' in the admincp, otherwise look under 'New Registrant Info' if in the modcp changelog 0.1 - initial release 0.2 - make it work for both mods and admins (shows in admincp and modcp) 0.3 - use dynamic modcp/admincp variables, move 'New Registrant Info' under Users menu NOTE: remember to look under Users when browsing in the admincp Download Now Only licensed members can download files, Click Here for more information. Open the includes/xml/cpnav_newregistrants.xml file and replace this line:
<link>../{$vbulletin->config[Misc][modcpdir]}/newregistrants.php</link> with this <link>../{$vbulletin->config[Misc][admincpdir]}/newregistrants.php</link> Then open up the modcp/newregistrants.php and replace all instances of modcp with admincp, save the file. Copy the newregistrants.php file to your admincp directory, and copy the newregistrants.xml file to your includes/xml directory. Go to your control panel and import the main xml file and this will then show up in your admin control panel. This worked in 3.8.2. No members have liked this post.

DNSStuff no longer allows free searches as of today. The IP location function ("Lookup IP") is now broken, click on it, and this is the result:

You can replace the lookup link in the modcp/newregistrants.php with one that is free. The link to replace is on line 95.
