What is it?
gXboxLive is a modification for vBulletin which allows you to display a Xbox Live Leaderboard for your users.

This version is for vBulletin 4, installation and stability has not been verified by the author. Visit this thread for vBulletin 3 compatible version.

I use my released mods daily, if I find an issue with them or add features for myself I will release updates. If there are significant bugs or simple feature requests I will do my best to release fixes. Some of my mods rely on fetching data from 3rd party websites, due to the unreliable results, my mods will require users to troubleshoot for themselves if they find the addon is not working for them specifically. I am offering my personal mods that work ok for me for you to use, I am sorry I do not have time to troubleshoot many user specific issues. Thank you for your understanding.

Features
  • Lists all ranked Gamertags, each updated once per day
  • Optionally show unranked Gamertags (Original Xbox Users).
  • Optionally allow Xbox Live message sending.
  • Optionally allow Xbox Live friend requests.
  • Optionally to choose how many User Names Per Page to display.
  • Optionally require a minimum post count.
  • Optionally to add a navbar link.*
  • Optionally to add a miscellaneous quick link.*
  • Choose how recently users must be active to be displayed.
  • Optionally display leaderboard statistics
  • Limit usergroups to display.
  • Limit access by usergroup.
  • Optionally display Forumhome stats
  • Optionally display Memberinfo gamercard
  • Optionally display Postbit leaderboard rank
  • Monitors invalid gamertags, 5 attempts to verify the gamertag and then the users gamertag profile field is blanked to prevent further checks.
  • Can link directly to a gamertag position in the leaderboard with gxboxlive.php?gt=Gamertag

*Depends on your vBulletin version and template configuration.

Installation
  1. Download the latest version and upload all files. Images go in the folders specific to your style.
  2. Install the product.
  3. Create a Single-Line Text Box User Profile Field for members to enter their Gamertag into.
    • Go to yourdomain.com/forumdir/admincp/?loc=profilefield.php%3Fdo%3Dadd
    • Single-Line Text Box
    • Continue
    • Title: Xbox Live Gamertag
    • Description: Enter your Xbox Live Gamertag
    • Regular Expression: ^([A-Za-z0-9 ]+)?$ (regex not required)
    • The rest of the settings is your prefrence.
    • Save
    • Look and see what the field id number is for Xbox Live Gamertag, example field25.
  4. Fill in the gXboxLive configuration options, make sure to enter the field id for the newly created Xbox profile field above.
    • Go to yourdomain.com/forumdir/admincp/?loc=options.php%3Fdo%3Doptions%26dogroup%3Dgxbl_group
  5. Send people to their user cp to enter their gamertags.
  6. Wait up a few minutes for the gamertags to appear on the leaderboard.

  • Quick xbox.com url changes, there is no longer any way to directly link to add a friend.

  • Quick fixes for errors mentioned, no other updates.

It works fine on my 4.1.3..
Actually the leaderboard does, but the stats never update. I still only show 10 users on a game that we do a league for that has 30 people in it. lol

I just uninstall & reinstall every so often to get a fresh listing. (or just update, if there is one)


Also there is still a "Reputation" column on mine, is that right.?
Probably because i never delete from server. (just re-upload xml)

Anything i can put in the code to replace this, so it doesn't mis-align the top menu.?

Thanks. I uninstalled it. It's not working anyway. Not even the first time, so my leaderboard stayed empty.

Any alternatives for this ?

Did you FTP into your server and check the date time stamp on the files to see if they matched the last time you loaded them up? Mine wasn't working either until I discovered they didn't overwrite. I went in a deleted all the gXboxLive non graphic files and reloaded. After that it started working for me and I am on 4.1.3

Yea thats what i do, & it reloads the leaderboard great, all up to date, etc.. but the stats will always be whatever it is when you re-upload it.. they never change after that. The stats are always the same, unless you upload it again. (re-install).

Thats why i re-upload this mod every month or so to get a fresh count in the stats.

I dont think any of my members view the actual leaderboard.. its just nice to see how many active members are playing which games in the stats. (at the bottom of forumhome)

So I have it run on, but the reputation does not appear.
What can that be?

Can someone help me?

Works fine on my 4.1.3. It updates every day perfectly. However, I have not had any new members try and add a gamertag to the leaderboard so i don't know if it works still in that area.

I changed my gamertag yesterday, the cron ran at midnight and it updated my gamertag when I looked this morning. If you want PM me your board and I'll sign up just to see if it works.

Do disable the original xbox menu/tab, just go to "Plugins & Products > Plugin Manager > gXBL: vB4 Tab Item" and inactivate the plugin.

Still wanting this on my forum. So I tried it again...
When running the task manually I get:

Unable to fetch URL: http://gamercard.xbox.com/en-US/xxxxx.card - xxxx - Possibly not a real gamertag entered.

The Gamertag is real and exists. When I open the url, the gamercard is displayed.

Unfortunately it is not possible, as Sony does not have an API available to obtain the data from.
