Not Supported Template Edits Additional Files

Howdy hi - This is a simple template modification that will show your Members' browser of choice in their postbit... The choices (matching images included) I have included are Internet Explorer, Konqueror, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, Safari, Camino, Opera & Flock web browsers. Of course there is the option to select "Other" as well.

This simple mod should be able to work with any of the 3.x series vBulletin....

INSTRUCTIONS ----------------

### Step 1 ###

Upload the included "browser" folder to your forum images folder
** Don't change the image file names **

### Step 2 ###

Create a new custom profile field:
AdminCP --> User Profile Fields --> Add New User Profile Field
Select Single-Selection Menu...

Fill in the following options:
  • Title: Web Browser of Choice

  • Description: Please select the browser you most surf the internet with (aka your web browser of choice).

  • Options: (List below - One option per line - Order doesn't matter)
    Internet Explorer
    Konqueror
    Netscape
    Mozilla
    Firefox
    Safari
    Camino
    Opera
    Flock
    Other
  • Set Default: Yes - but No First Blank Option

  • Field Editable by User: Yes

  • Allow user to input their own value for this option: No

  • Which page displays this option? Edit Profile

Click the save button.

### Step 3 ###

Edit your postbit and/or postbit_legacy template:
AdminCP --> Style Manager --> (select your style) Edit Templates --> Postbit Templates --> postbit OR postbit_legacy

Find:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

Underneath - Add:

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

** Be sure to fill in the [fieldX] with the field number of your newly created profile field - for instance if the profile field name is field17 - Then the above code would include $post[field17] for each time it appears **

Oops - forgot to include the Safari.gif image - I attached it to the 1st post - so you can just save it to your local computer as Safari.gif (capital "S") and upload it to the images/browser folder.
