Nivo slider is really easy to implement.

I have it ready on my testsite, but we are not ready to release our fully reworked cms part as of yet.

Since a lot of you guys want it i'll upload the code later today.

Thanks. Thats almost what we need. If you add a function to pull content and images from a forum, then this provides all that has been requested.

Would need a additional database_query and i would have to look up a code which searchs for the first image in a thread (probably going through the vb4 files to see how it is done there) - and then some additional debug in order to not catch smileys.
Which to be honest i won't look into simply because it has no practical relevance for our forum. Which means there will arise a lot of problems i can't see or fix without extensive debugging. Article is different since we will use the slider there ourselfs.

Besides that (as an admin) i have some problems to imagine how that would run in practice, when i pull 50 threads out of our board - i end up with 48 threads without image which probably all have a similar combination of age/comments as my articles. Meaning i have no controll over what is going to show up in the slider.

That aside, if someone comes up with a database query which fetches: thread title, thread id, post count, thread date, message - and a way to find the thread image - i can easily point him in a direction where to put that code in my nivo slider widget for it to show up.

As a workaround you could promote everything out of one forum into a hidden cms-subsection. And then change the link in the slider to point at your threads (instead of articles).

Very easily said ... why don't you provide some proof? Sounds to me that you have your own agenda. In the past, contributors here used to be honest.

There was a bug in your iReview software I pointed out to you that involved sorting. It didn't work properly, and even with proof you insisted it was user error. How I can screw up sorting is beyond me. In any event, you discontinued communication and ignored me. You even told me not to contact you again.

If you are the guy who could not understand that if he selected multiple forums in settings, then multiple forum results will display in the sorting, this after 200 support questions and you trying to rob me after 6 months by filing a denied PayPal complaint, and then you managed to be a contributor here ... then I feel sorry for vB users to be coached by you.

Not to mention that the 200.00 you mentioned that you spent is another blatant lie if you are that guy.

And you seem to forget the nice testimonial you also left ...

I'm not going to get into a public debate with you. We felt your software was faulty, you claimed we harassed you, end of story. This thread isn't meant for us to debate and has gone off topic, and for that I apologize to the OP and the participants who are looking for a suitable slider.

I am also not interested into a debate with you, but I simply cannot remain silent after you are attacking me and claiming to be someone who posted the below in my testimonial section on August 17th of last year.

iReview and Customer Support
iReview is an amazingly powerful product. We love how well it works for our needs! And customer support is outstanding! Very quick to respond and very helpful!

And here is a message I got 2 days ago from TheLastSuperman who is a moderator here, authorized me to quote him and knows a ton more than you.

That's just awesome, I'm reading through the settings and realized you have quite a few neat features including automatic thread creation after a product is purchased, I was completely unaware of that and upon further review (was setting it up earlier today before we went out) I realized you really thought this out, very glad I made the purchase and you can quote me on that

I wrote that prematurely.

Well, anyway congratulations, because that guy you claimed to be could not even spell HTML. And now you are a contributor? LOL
