Facebook Connect
This add-on allows your guests and existing users to login with their Facebook account through Facebook Connect.

WORKS WITH 3.8!

Benefits of Facebook Connect
  • Users can simply login with their Facebook account without going through the registration process.
  • Increase user interaction and your traffic through Facebook notifications and news-feeds!
Features
Facebook users will be able to receive Facebook notifications when:
  • There is a reply to their thread or a thread that they're subscribing to
  • They receive a new PM
News-Feed will be published on to the user's wall when the user:
  • Logs in for the first time
  • Replies to a thread
  • Creates a new thread
Fetch user data from Facebook
Fetch data like name, location, profile picture and use it on your forums! (NOTE: Some data may not be available for some users)

Automatically befriend user's friends
If any of the user's friends are also registered on the forum, they will automatically be friends!

How to Upgrade From 2.0.0 to 2.0.1
  • Upgrade the product. (Import the product XML again and set overwrite to yes).
  • Update Feed Template IDs in the settings (make sure they are the same as at: FB Connect Options -> News-Feed Templates)

  • Fixed the notification problem (notifications were sent to wrong people)

Troubleshooting
Server Requirements:
PHP 5

If you get an error:


Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)   
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

Means that there is something wrong with your callback URL. Your callback URL must be where xd_receiver.htm is; so when you enter [callbackurl]/xd_receiver.htm into your browser you should see a blank page (not a 404 page not found error or anything else).

If you get a continues this means there is a javascript error. Make sure you've done all the template edits correctly (especially footer & navbar). Clear your cache and reload the page.

If nothing happens when you click the Facebook Connect button make sure your callback url domain is the same as you forum domain (the one set in your forum settings) - more specifically make sure that there is a www (or isn't) in both domains.

Uncaught exception 'FacebookRestClientException' with message 'action_links-href URL is not

same error

looking at the last version which was trashed for same error..it seems since the new FB updates break this mod

Great modification, but it didnīt work in our board.

I had change the things and create the app - it seems to be right, i could accept the app-permission-window, if i click on the "connect with facebook" button, then i could set an username and then a http 500 error follows - what could i do? Does anyone know this problem and could tell me a way to fix it?

Can you let me know what you done to any specific files to get the registration logo to appear and actually work?

My forum just shows a loading animation trying to load the script but nothing actually works... and i need this working...

If any 1 else knows another alternative facebook connect mod that does the exact same thing then msg me..

Hi all guys..
I just would like to know if someone encountered some problems with bots.. i mean.. i've not installed this mod yet, so i want to ask you before
I'm worried because we had many problems with bots recently, so i would like to avoid any type of problem with registration.

Is the plugin vbstopforumspam working even if this mod is active?

I installed this on a site and my members are reporting the following issue:

I am having a facebook popup issue. When I try to post something on the forum, I get a pop up message saying something about trying to post on facebook and then the only choice I have is OK or to close the window with the X in the right hand corner. I don't want to post on facebook, so I always close with the X. Is there any way we can disable this for the entire forum. I know others might be getting this error as well. It is annoying to say the least.
Is there a fix for this? I've had to disable this hack.

Hi!
When I perform the step 5 of the install instructions i receive an error message:

I am using PHP Version 5.2.6-1+lenny10

what could it be???
