Weekly email newsletters are free up to 500 contacts.
That's not helpful for most even small-medium size forums. Is there a try before you buy option?

You can shape your target segment around the 500 contacts, based on activity date range or usergroup. If you need a higher allowance for a short period of time, DM me. Otherwise, once we clear the waitlist, we'll explore increasing the # of contacts in the free tier.

I followed the link to threadloom from above. It took me to a page where I entered the required info and it said it would send me a confirmation email. It didn't.

It did take me to a page which was a dead end. I go back now and it allows me to sign in and go to the same page without a password.

I went to the threadloom site and signed up. It accepted the same info I submitted in the link page which was issued by info.threadloom. It did send a confirmation email.

I go find my way to "My forums". I get down to "Select product and the "Newsletter" button does not check, nor do any of the others. So I cannot progress from there.

Thanks

Hi @rcull - I'm sorry for the trouble you had signing up. I'm looking into the issues you mentioned. In the meantime, we did receive your interest form entry and your account signup. I just sent you an email to help you get Newsletter setup.

Hello, I am very interested in this product. I have a forum with a VIP members' area. I would ideally want to send out two email newsletters: one newsletter to the basic usergroup which did not have access to the members' area, only linking to posts outside the VIP members' area. And secondly another newsletter, sent to the VIP members usergroup, which linked to threads both outside and inside the members' area. Is this possible please?

My site has been indexed. I looking at the "Setup". I wanted to try some tests using only the admin user group, but it seems to want to charge $10.00 per month for 6 test emails to my admin address'. Maybe threadloom is a bit much for my site as the most newsletters I ever send is 7-800

I don't understand why the header image is supposed to be a minimum of 1200 x 150 pixels. May if I could test it I would understand better.

Hi @furnival - thanks for your interest. Currently Newsletter is only configured to send out one set of posts with each iteration. But we're adding multi-edition support that could address your need. I'll reach out on PM to discuss.

Hi @rcull - we can put your account in a preview state so you won't be charged right away. I'll follow up with you to discuss your needs.

Currently, we only support vB3 and vB4 (along with XenForo 1 and XenForo 2). If you want to get updates on new platforms we support over time, you can sign up for updates from our blog at http://blog.threadloom.com. Thanks.

Any updates on this, please? I see from your blog that this product has become a success and so I thought there was a chance you might have followed through with your plan to add this multi-edition support.

We currently do not support two editions to different user groups.

We are happy to say that we do offer 25k free emails per month - and the ability for custom scheduling to meet the needs of your community. You can leverage this to offer a daily newsletter around your communities best content.

This is really a beautiful product and deserves more attention. I do have a couple of questions. I set up my newsletter and the first one was sent out. I am a little confused as to who to expect to receive the emails though? I selected usergroups to receive it. But I also see you all have a 'list builder' feature. I formatted the list builder pop up and it has started showing up on the site. I am not sure whether the newsletter only goes out to those who have 'opted in' via that list builder pop-up, or if it goes out to all registered site members based on the usergroup selections I made? Or am I supposed to choose one option or the other? I would appreciate info to those areas of confusion. The newsletter really is clean, relevant, and beautifully formatted. Kudos! We are users of your Threadloom search tool and both products are the best we have seen.

Thank you for the kind words, we also think it's a beautiful product, being used on over 1000+ forums currently, and we'd love to connect with more. Our best referral is from admins like yourself.

When we first start a newsletter, we do what is called a ramp-up process. We gradually send to your most active users so that services like Gmail, Bing, and Yahoo will recognize that the sending is legitimate versus SPAM. This warming up process is beneficial to forums, especially those older than 10 years and so on.

Example, say you have a 25,000 member forum. We would send the first newsletter to 500 users. The next newsletter would go to 2,000 as long as no red flags are raised, and so on until we reach the full member list. You do have options to limit cost, to only send to members active in the last X number of days (this feature is set by the admin in the Threadloom dashboard). One of the biggest unseen features is we monitor bounces, and blocks so if you are blocked by a security system, we work behind the scenes to recognize the issue and get you unblocked.

List Builder compliments Threadloom's Newsletter as it adds fresh addresses to your forum list that are not already on your forum user list. You send to these as well as your forum users.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks for the informative reply. I've got a great understanding of the newsletter feature now. Again - one of the best products to come around for vB 4 forums in years. It deserves more attention and I'll also be sharing over at The Admin Zone, my preferred forum resource site.
