To my knowledge this works on all current flavours of VB4.x.x range. I've been using it since 4.0.2 and it's continued to work throughout until the current (which for me is 4.1.0pl2)

Anyway, it's a simple template modification:

Please download the attached txt document for full instructions to apply an advertisement block within the blog section of your vb driven site.
