Good resources / tips for learning PHP

One of my goals for 2008 is to learn PHP / MySQL. I have a few e-books and such on it now, and am fairly confident in my ability to succeed in my goal.

I know that people all have different preferred and effective methods of learning, but I would like to hear some advice from anyone who has learned the language on their own, or relatively on their own. Did you read good books? Did you dissect other scripts? Did you find that learning certain aspects before others was easier or harder?

Just looking to give myself a bit of a head start and less headache throughout the process. Any advice or whatever is appreciated
