Question about CMS Usage

I currently run Joomla for my CMS and want to move everything onto vBulletin so it's more integrative and interactive. So we're moving all our articles over. My mods have run into two problems:

"I've encountered an issue with copying images. The old site has all the larger images displayed small enough to fit on the page, with the option to click for a full-size display, but I can't find a way to control the image size. vB is inserting them full-size, regardless of whether I do a straight copy of the original article, or use the "Insert Image" function, and I can't see an HTML editor anywhere to insert the size manually."

and

"I was going to copy over a few more articles from the Art Showcase, but I knew I hadn't been copying them in order because I had been avoiding the really large ones due to the image size problem, so I wanted to check which ones I'd already copied. But only the last few show up on the preview page. I couldn't see a way of viewing the whole of the Art section. Am I being blind?"

I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this. If it helps, here's my CMS: http://mercuryice.com/forums/content.php

Also why is stuff that is clearly marked as published showing up as not published?
