Even on my small forum when I ran into a big problem, I created a static page and directed members to another one of my sites, created a special hidden section where only those with the link could either discuss or read updates on my progress.
It would have taken less effort for Ray to post here than to create a new login elsewhere. I understand the need to reply, but if he replied here others would just direct people to vb.org to read his comments. If he is going to defend vB on every media outlet, then they better hire a lot more people. I feel there are a lot of knee-jerk reactions by IB. No members have liked this post.

Why not run the upgrade on a duplicate copy of the board and leave the original in tact so people can use it?
Then when all goes well, just swap the folder names and go live with the upgraded version. No members have liked this post.

Yup, thats what I do..
Create a 2nd board and upgrade. I dunno.. They have their reasons I guess... I like the source code of the maintenance page.. <!-- Hey, I see you snooping in the code.
