This generates a random password and sends it along with the activation email that users are sent. For this to work you must have verify email enabled. You obviously don't want to send a random password to an email which might not exist.

hack suggested by psico.

Note this is not as advanced as the one by bira, it simply sends a random password on register, it doesn't sent a random pass if they change email.

Last updated on 04th of November 2001 14:45GMT

now includes an option to turn the random password option on and off within the admin cpanel.

Error

On installing all works fine, but an error is showing up on top of the registration page:

Parse error: parse error in /home/sites/home/web/forum/register.php(198) : eval()'d code on line 3

I Installed as per Instructions?

Any help?

Here is the error.

This is the begining of the register.php and also a pic of the error.

<?php
error_reporting(7);

$templatesused = "signupadult,signupverify,modifyoptions_maxposts,register_birthday,modifyoptions _styleset,register_stylecell,register_customfields,registeradult,registercoppa,e mail_newuser,emailsubject_newuser,email_activateaccount,emailsubject_activateacc ount,redirect_registerthanks";

require("./global.php");

if ((!isset($action) or $action=="") and (!isset($a) or $a=="")) {
$action="check";
}

if ($url==$HTTP_REFERER) {
$url=urlencode($url);
}

Thanks,

PPN,

I'm pretty sure emailing full vB files is prohibited by the license agreement.
