Random password on register page.

I've found a few of random password mods here at vbulletin.org but they either used external files with iframes (ugh), were in the graveyard section or were old 2.x versions so it seemed the only way to have this feature was to write it myself , so here is the end result.

Features:
  • Enable / disable
  • Set character length
  • Write you own text line above random password

Compatibility:
Written using 3.8.5

Installation:
  1. Install product
  2. Set preferences in settings

Click install for support.

Awe, I was kinda hoping it would replace vB's 'enter a pass' with a random generated one. So the user couldn't choose. Ensuring a secure pass until they bother to set one themselves. And what would be even better, if it doesn't mention it to them, but includes it in the email 'your account has been created and activated, your account details are: *x*.

Hi Floris thanks for the suggestions, I've started on v2 of this mod and currently have your first suggestion "replace vB's 'enter a pass'" implimented but as to sending the password in the registration email I will have to look into that.

Ditto!

Btw, did you release the revised code which does not allow a user to choose their own pw? If so, where is at for downloading? Thanxx.

This is add-on not work in the UTF-8 forum. (
If I import a add-on from your attach (Windows 1251), register page have a 500 error.

If I convert your add-on to UTF-8, register page have a invalid characters (see my attach - 2 and 4 characters)
