What is Username Change?
Username Change is Brought to you by the Designer of products such as RPG Inferno and Inferno vBShout and the programmer of RPG Integration v3.

Username Change from DragonByte Tech is a modification designed to allow users to change their usernames at will (within your configured limits, of course).

About Username Change
Your members will no longer bug you for username changes, you can let them change it whenever they want!

It also has a history feature in the member profile, showing a list of previous usernames. This history feature uses vBulletin's own Profile Change history - no additional tables needed!

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps us know how many people are using our work, giving us extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

  • Uses vBulletin's "Profile Change History" feature for maximum compatibility with other mods
  • Change username via UserCP -> Edit Profile
  • One-click revert username via UserCP -> Edit Profile
  • Username change history in a member's profile
  • Moderators can change usernames at any time easily
  • "Can Change Own Username" permission for users
  • "Can Change Others Usernames" permission for mods
  • "Can View Own History" permission for profile block
  • "Can View Others History" permission for profile block
  • Per-usergroup username change delay (in days)
  • Per-usergroup profile history limit
  • Per-usergroup maximum total username changes

ModCP Change Log
  • Paginated results of all username changes
  • Displays date of change, old value and new value
  • Displays who changed the username
  • Choose date range to display, or view all changes

One thing I forgot to include in the original description:
Unlike previous Username Changes mods, I use vBulletin's own "profile change history" to fetch the history - no additional tables needed!

Is it possible to have only a certain UserGroup be able to edit the username? I have a 100k+ forum and I'm the only one who can do it currently (through AdminCP), but I want my moderators to be able to update people's user names. Or better yet, is there a plugin that allows certain usergroups update user profiles? Currently vB allows moderators to login to ModCP but they cannot save any profile.

Yeah, that's entirely possible, the usergroup permissions lets you control who can change their own (or others') usernames

I do not see how to change the username from the user cp.

Edit: It is under EDIT PROFILE.
Might want to clarify above.

That happens because of the way the area is automatically added to the templates (to avoid template edits).
I'm not sure if this can be fixed

Ability to have users change their username once. This option should not be in days.

Yes, you can set different options per usergroup including who can change their own username, who can change other peoples, and how often they can change their username =)

This mod is designed for letting people change their usernames more often than once, though.
I'd recommend just setting the days option to an absurdly high number

I just installed this and went into my profile. It says I changed my username on 2/14, but I didn't... is there a way to reset the last time someone changed their name?
