Not Supported Uses Plugins Template Edits

This product will allow Administrators to edit the username and/or the date & time of posts.

It's fairly no-frills but may be of use to others - I use it because at present I am going back through some threads to insert a post at the beginning to act as topic info and also I like to post updates under a particular username which isn't my preferred login. Yes I'm lazy enough that posting and then editing the uername is easier than logging in the other account!

Details:
3 plugin locations (one to cache template)
1 new template
1 added query to match username to userid
Applies edit username/dateline permission to usergroupid 6.

note:
If you edit the dateline for a post and alter which is the first or last post in a thread then you'll need to rebuild thread info from admncp maintenance. (Not strictly needed for changing the last post as this will be updated when the thread is next posted in.)

As I say, no frills; very simply does what it does and no more. I think the code may be a bit of a fudge in places to work around weirdness I couldn't think to sort any other way so if you know better please share!

Is there any way to change to a guest user?
I use this plugin to change unwanted guest usernames but I am only able to change to registered usernames.

Does anyone know if this will work with 3.6x ?

It is exactly what I want. I need to change dates. I know there is another out there http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showt...t=98737&page=4 but I don't want to install that one.

This one is simple and only does what I need, so it is ideal. I am just nervous about installing it and it fouling something up in 3.6 - if that is possible..

Is there a way to make it not just for admins? I'd like to allow certain usergroups to alter the post date of a NEW post (we use this as an intranet, and need to add old posts) and also whoever has permissions to edit posts, not just admins. Possible? (i'm running 3.64)

Real name: Jim
installed and working to change the users name

Now, the thread views still show the original users, and the user stats are not updated. Looking for the exact steps to get this updated.
