Why would new thread posts take a long time to process?
I have a VB site running 3.7.1 Patch Level 2 + VBSEO. Submitting a new thread takes a very long time to process - like a minute! This delay has increased over time. So it has something to do with the number of threads or the number of users.
Once the thread is established there is no delay when submitting new posts in the thread, it only happens when creating a new thread. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I was wondering if it has something to do with the fact that almost all 1600 users are emailed when a new thread is started. No members have liked this post.

Lower server resources, slow thread table or a bad plugin related to the thread table.

Please, remove VBSEO immediately. It has known issues and is leaving your site open to being hacked.
