Lightbulb [Request] RESTRICT SEARCH to a SINGLE USERGROUP in SELECTED forums?

Is it possible to restrict searches to a single usergroup in a given selected forum/s?

If not, I would like to have a Mod who could do such thing, if possible...!

Thank you very much!

Hmmm, not sure, but you could probably write a plugin to look at the forumids being passed and then if one of them is X and they aren't in usergroup Y, then you give them no results or an error?

If I post some CSS and don't say where it goes, put it in the additional.css template.
I will NOT help via PM (you will be directed to post in the forums for help.)

Dear Lynne, you are ALWAYS there! I really want to thank you for your help and support!

Well... the problem is that... I'm not a coder...

Is there some coder who could do such hack? (as Lynne said, it does seems to be something quite easy for a coder to do...)

Please...?

Question

Anyone with a bit more extra time than Excalibur82?

Dear Excalibur82, if you still find some time, I believe that this could be a very simple hack to code (as Lynne just said) that could be added right into your current hacks list!

Ok, good news and bad news...

Good news: I have this working...

Bad news: The way it is right now, restricts anything from showing up for "New Posts" and just by doing a regular search.

BUT, if you search within the forum, for example, forum id "4", it won't let them SO, its kinda there but kinda not, lol. I'll see if I can figure something out though

Ok, I'm not sure if this is going to go much further, but if you want to use it as is, just upload the attached plugin and change X1 to the usergroup id you want to restrict and X2 to the forum id that you want to restrict X1 from.

Hummm... How about that "New Posts" interference? The "New Posts" is one of the most clicked link on my board...

Ok, I guess that I will have to test it like this...

But would like to ask you if it is possible to assign it to more than one forum id? (I would like to set it into 4 of my sub-forums)

Oh! And the New Posts interference is still there?

Thank you so very much!
