Upgrade too vb4 from only vb3 mysql backup

Hi, I've got an old mysql backup made via the admin cp ov vb on version 3.7.2 and was wondering if I could use this on a fresh install of a VB4 installation or how I would go about it if i were to upgrade to vb4?

thanks.

I would just do an upgrade on the 3.7 db
just upload everything for 4.0, post the config file at your 3.7 db, then run the install/upgrade.php file to update the DB to 4.x
