Force user to have an avatar to browse the forums

like that mod forcing one user to read a thread, any chance we could have a mod forcing registered users to have an avatar, else they can't browse the forum at all?

of course that shouldn't affect guests

Mark, how your product? It will warn the user or will force to have an avatar?

This would be similar to the products:

It alerts the user that in order to browse the forums, they must define an avatar. They are given a link to the page where the avatar can be uploaded or selected. At this point, they may click the link, or log out. Any other action will repeat the advisory. I tried to follow the request to the letter when coding this simple mod.

You could publish this product here? It is excellent, just try it.

Thanks for all

Once the OP verifies that it does exactly what they want, and has a chance to give feedback on other options they might like, I will consider publishing it officially.

That is ridiculous. Forcing people to have an avatar to just browse your forum. Why?

It's not something I would do either, however, when someone makes a request, and it isn't immoral or illegal, I will help if I can.

Well said, and I agree with you

Our forum is requiring members to have their avatar but it's only an option, they can have it or not, depends on their hobby.

In my point of view, "requiring to have an avatar to browse the forums" is not necessary because some people have habits to use avatar but some didn't like use avatar for their profile.

In my Forum'm using this product along with this:

http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showt...ghlight=avatar

So if one does not want to upload an avatar, you can use a "generic".

Hello MarkFL

I would like to apologize for not answering sooner, I did not receive a reply notification somehow. I feel really bad for not thanking you sooner. And I couldn't even give a like to your post because of the time limit.

I feel really bad about it because I myself hate ungrateful people and I'm sorry I might have looked like one of these.

I am going to test your product ASAP and repost whether it works fine or not.

Again a billion thanks for posting this.

--------------- Added 17 Aug 2016 at 00:21 ---------------

Tested and works 100% perfect !!!!! compatible with custom or pre defined avatar no problem
Many thanks I will keep this mod so simple and clean code.
I will nominate for MOTM
