New Social Groups page Layout - CSS only
![]() Developer Last Online: Feb 2021 ![]() ![]() ![]()
The Social Group layout was changed for final release and this mod is really no longer needed. I will not be updating it any longer.
This new social groups layout is done purely through a CSS file - socialgroups2.css. The plugin simply appends the new CSS file to the socialgroups.css file link in the page. If you change your stylevars or the CSS elsewhere for your custom style, you may need to modify the socialgroups2.css file for this to look right on your site. If you make your window small enough, it will make this go out of whack. If you don't like that, then this modification is not for you. A template mod could probably fix that issue, but I didn't want to modify the template - I just wanted to do this through CSS. This mod is supported for the default style only as I am not willing to debug other's site CSS issues. Attachment 106854 Version History: 1.0 2009-11-27: initial release by Lynne at vbulletin.org 1.1 2009-11-28: I forgot to actually add a condition for the options (my bad). Added a condition for IE to use the original layout. To install: 1. Import product-lynne_socialgroup_layout.xml 2. Go to Settings > options > Social Group Options > Social Group Page Layout > Yes To uninstall: 1. Uninstall "Social Group Layout v4.0" Works fine in firefox and Safari. The right-hand box is positioned strange (a scroll bar becomes visible) in IE 7 so I decided to just disable this layout if the user is using IE. (It's a strange bug in IE that has to do with using float and widths.) Download Now Only licensed members can download files, Click Here for more information. Screenshots Show Your Support

The way of page layout is good, but I would like to do some changes.
1) How can I remove the group name from here? 2) How to fill the extra space? 3) Same as above. Thanks. No members have liked this post.

Veer, all of those items are present in the default layout and have nothing to do with this modification - I didn't touch the css for them at all.
I just uploaded version 1.1. I had forgotten to actually included the option in the code (so no matter if it was set to Yes or No, you still got the new layout). So, I've added that and also added a condition for if the user is using IE, he gets the default layout instead of this one.

I am using Lynne's Modification but when you go into the social groups to see a new thread it is half the width of a regular section. I want to make it wider like the default in vbulletins forum width.
I want to make it wider as it is so short in width from left to right. Well you might need to look at yours to see what I am talking about or look on mine: http://www.dvdnextcopysupportforum.com/forum.php No members have liked this post.

You realize you no longer need this mod to change the layout, right? They finally changed the layout in vB4 to be basically just like what this mod used to do (except the left and right side flipped).
We cannot see the groups on your site. But, the 'length' of the Discussions box cannot be the full width. Or rather, I did not make it the full width because of the other stuff that needs to show up on the side. If you choose to make it full width, I think you will need to completely redo the template and take it out of the content div since that sets the width of it.

Thanks Lynne I didn't realize other stuff would end up there it was a want rather than a need. I'll just leave it alone then.
