i was looking at this and it says you can change the smilies path but i can't seem to find it, i'm running 3.0.1. do i change the .xml or is it in the admin panel? as i looked and the smiles in the admin panel shows the default folder and i can't change it for any of the skins because i want my members to choose

you have to set up a replacement in the acp.

it won't change the smilielisting in the acp, but it will display different (just different looking of course, no different shortcuts) smilies in different styles

Well, I found a work around - the replacement variables editor.

Block Disabled:      (Update License Status)
Suspended or Unlicensed Members Cannot View Code.

I tried this but couldn't get it to work. I get broken links where the icons should be, and all default icons are trying to load anyway. My seperate forums are child forums though, do I need to create completely different styles rather than child styles for this to work?

Also, do I still need to load the icons into via the icon manager? When I do this it just adds the icons into the orginal choices.

I have also installed the Filter threads by post icon hack. Could this be messing something up? Two templates in that hack were altered, forumsdisplay and threadbit, and also one file; forumsdisplay.php

Any ideas?
