Who can create threads in the chosen forum ?
![]() Developer Last Online: Dec 2008 ![]() ![]() ![]() This modification is in the archives.
What does this hack do ?
This hack adds an option in your ACP (forums part) with which you can choose who can create new threads in the chosen forum ! For example, in a specific forum, if you only want that 1 or 2 members of your board to be able to create new threads, you just have to activate the option for the chosen forum ! You can choose to activate or not this option You can add/remove users from the list If a user had already been added to the list, he doesn't appear in the list of users to add. To install this hack, just upload files in their respective folders : - forum_can_create_threads.php in the cpadmin folder - functions_create_threads.php in the includes folder - can_create_threads_FR_grog6.xml in the includes/xml folder Then import the XML file in the Product Manager of your ACP ! That's all Enjoy ![]() Please click the install button if you download it and report bugs It's my first hack for vb3.5 and nobody else has tested it before ![]() Download Now Only licensed members can download files, Click Here for more information. Perhaps replace the drop down with an field to insert the user's userid?

I haven't insert an input type="text" coz you have to be sure of the user's login
I thought it could be better to choose directly in a list and I wanted to "play a little" to show or not the user in the list if he had or not already been added But you are perhaps right That's why I consider it as a Beta ![]() For the usergroup, I agree Blaine, but I created it for a forum where, in only one forum, only one member is allowed to create threads, and I thought it could be a good idea to do a hack for this, it may help some users here And it's longer to create an usergroup, to change a user's usergroup than to install and use this plugin ![]() No members have liked this post.

Why not just deny privledges to ALL the user groups to START new thread. Then edit the individual permisions per users so that they can start a new thread?
And I may be wrong but this is an extension, not a plug in. Thanks for your effort though. No members have liked this post.

better idea would be to insert userids seperated by commas...
or anyway, just a usergroup you give to thread creators... No members have liked this post.
