In this tutorial I am going to share How to Use Cloudflare on Vbulletin 4.x (100% Working).
Check out Demo This method is 100% working for me and I am not getting any login issue to admin panel or member panel. To use Cloudflare on Vbulletin 4.x do the following steps: 1. Add your vbulletin on cloudflare... Let the cloudflare scan the Nameserver. After scan edit your nameserver as per Cloudflare guidelines. 2. After that Go to DNS tab and check DNS and HTTP Proxy If Icon color is highlighted then click on that cloud icon and make all DNS Only. 3. Now go to Speed Tab and enable JavaScript CSS HTML 4. Next Go to Page Rule Tab, here yo need to add 3 rules. *.youdomain.com/login.php* Then the settings are: browser intigrity check-off, cache level: bypass *.youdomain.com/* Then the settings are: ssl: off, browser cache ttl:1day,always online: on, cache level: cache everything *.youdomain.com/admincp/* Then the settings are: ssl ![]() 5.Open config file and add proxy ip address of cloudflare: go to http://intodns.com/ and put your site address get ip address and put that address on config bottom line with coma seprated

From what I can remember of using cloudflare, it broke inline moderation somewhat.
Affected the quick reply box and caused a ip issue with "who's online". Since then, I've simply settled on not using it & rather focusing on making my site faster (look in sig). Never looked back since ![]() If you do keep using it, I suggest to turn off rocketloader so it can't intercept your JS & cause interference with that. No members have liked this post.

I leave the default settings, just edit some when using SSL for my forum.

I have had CloudFlare for the past 2 years, my forum is heavily modified and I haven't required any special page rules and never really had any problems with it, just using the basic settings. Guess I'm lucky. I also just installed a free LetsEncypt SSL cert too
Also for those that don't know vBulletin 4.2.x has built in reverse proxy detection now, no more class_core.php edits. But you still need root access and mod_cloudflare if you want correct IPs in your apache logs. I used to get DDoSed alot but not in the past year or 2...guess I don't really need it anymore No members have liked this post.

I wonder if it's going to be free for long term.. I just read up on it and watch the Youtube video.. sorry about hijacking the post. Thanks! --------------- Added 13 Jun 2017 at 05:45 --------------- Sweet Installed Let's Encrypt SSL into vultr and got it all to work! Now working on IMG Cacher https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=288060 I used cloudflare when they first came out and it took a little bit of time to understand the redirect.. Nice informative post.. ![]()

They can offer it for a long term for free but services around it then can be not free.

The login.php and other stuff isn't needed, and for the admincp just bypass cache and disable performance.

*.youdomain.com/admincp/*
Then the settings are: cache level: bypass and disable performance. I did only that (one rule only) and now it works okay. --------------- Added 14 Sep 2020 at 21:27 --------------- But a possibly related to cloudflare issue I am having on this vb4 forum is that sometimes when a post or new thread is created with too many URLs in it, the post gets posted but a server (host) timeout error occurs. Maybe this has to do with this app Title Tag Fetcher (Auto Replace URL with Titletag) https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=189658 that I continue to use on my vb4 forum. Maybe there is too much of a delay when multiple URLs titles are being fetched in one post. The error I get that shows on the web does not indicate a cloudflare problem though, rather a host timeout.
