IS the CMS worth it?
Starting a new community, havent used VBulletin in many years and noticed many changes.
I am wondering, is it worth purchasing the CMS portion? Is the CMS better than lets say VBadvanced? Also, if I purchase the publishing suite, are they skins (themes) easily avalaible? thanks for the help... No members have liked this post.

Using the VB CMS over VB Advanced will be a matter of opinion, but there are other advantages for buying the Suite over the Forum Only package including better support that should also figure into your decision.
As for styles, there are a number available for download in the 4.x Styles section. Style versions are more specific in 4.x then they were in older versions so you'll be best using a style that exactly matches your specific version, or at least very close to it. You wouldn't even try to use a style for 4.0.1 for example on 4.1.2.

Can't say how it compares with vBAdvanced but if you are thinking it is anything like Joomla or Drupal for ease of use and features (like me at the pre-sale) then think again. By those standards it is rudimentary at best. I know, I know, I should have waited for the reports to come in before I jumped.
Hoping and praying it gets better because it is a bear to work with although a single login is nice (only thing that is). Jeff. No members have liked this post.

I wish they'd just work on the forum vs. adding an entire CMS to spread improvements even more thin. No way they'll ever catch up with any other CMS already mentioned, and just by trying, they're taking attention away from the forum.

I don't think the CMS is really that great, but I do like the blogs.

vBCMS is terrible, but get the Suite.

Don't buy Suite, it sucks. I suggest downloading 3.8.x instead. vBulletin screwed up vB 4 major since the new owners can't do anything

I bought suite, terrible mistake, I went back to forums only.
I am looking to use a custom CMS....the vB CMS is nowhere near gold... Editing or updating CMS is terrible, they need to make it easy to edit like vBAdvanced.. Worst piece of software I've had to deal in a long time.

No it's not worth it.
I'm currently using a joomla/vbulletin hybrid but I am moving to IPB soon.I bought the suite hoping for symmetry across the site but vB CMS is so archaic I gave up and went back to joomla. I love joomla but the integrated forums suck, IPB seems to be a nice medium between a good forum and a good CMS that has a single log-in without using a bridge. No members have liked this post.

Just got done attempting to integrate Joomla's JFusion vbulletin plugin with vb4.1.4. Turns out there's a bug they are still working on so it's not working. Will have to figure out something else. No members have liked this post.
