Not Supported Template Edits Code Changes Additional Files

Here's my first uploaded style; it's a facebook clone.

It's a bit more complex then the other facebook style, and is Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional as per the W3C.

Contains:
Icon Sets
15 Template Edits
2 Minor Language Mods
Fixed or Fluid Layout

(Fixed and Fluid styles each have their own XML. If you want the fluid style, upload the FBA_FLUID, if you prefer the fixed layout, upload the other one.)

There are some heavily modified templates including postbit, forumdisplay, showthread, member info, header, navbar, usercp, and a few others.

Basically, member profiles are set up to display like a facebook profile. The header contains links to profile, memberlist and PM's.

Quicklinks are displayed on the left pane, as is the control panel sidebar (except only on pages where the control panel would normally appear). Postbit was modified to look more like a wall.

The language edits regard the "Forgot Your Password" and "{X} Unread" phrases, which were modified to make them display in a more pleasing way with the theme. They change to "Forgot Password" and "{X}" respectively.

I'll be gone this weekend, but will return on monday to fix any issues or update it for better useability.

If you find any bugs, or things are missing, or any ideas on how to improve the style, post below and I'll fix/change them.

To Install
Upload images_fba to the root forum directory
Import them theme file
Import language file (not required).

EDIT: ahh! fixed style just ain't working for our forums...

I'll recode part after the long weekend to make it full width for those who prefer it that way. It won't be that easy to change with just the main style template, but is pretty easy to do nonetheless. It'll definately be the first thing on my todo list.

Thanks for the positive input.

other issues:

- doesn't seem to work well with vbadanced CMPS
- images break in vbagallery
- tabs don't work in profiles ... they all just appear as separate boxs in a long list.

awesome!!

I really love how you did this... facebook's style is very clean and tight (as in put together nice) one of its biggest attributes imho. but even more than facebook aspect is just how much you show how different forums can look with right application.

other questions/sugg:
- is there a way to cleanly add "blocks" to the left sidebar? I'd love to put other ads or things specific to our content. and a "highlighted profile" would be INCREDIBLE
- again, like Ultimate Side Bar add-on... option to see sidebar only on forumhome (or whereever) would be very high on the amazingness scale.
- fluid is much needed, but even more so, just ability to set a wider width. our analytics show most our users at 1024x768 and higher (other site is even higher average--different country )

I don't have vbadvanced cmps so I can't check why it doesn't work atm.
I'll look into the broken images, but I assume it's because of the small size.

Tabs don't work..there are no tabs, such is intentional.

To make the main table width more than 650px:

1. Go to all style options for the style
2. Set main table width to desired width in pixels (do not set to a percent).
3. Ctrl + f '#main_body' in additional CSS. Set it to the pixel width in step 2, minus 2. Ex. If desired width is 800px, set #main_body width to 798px.

Again, I'll work on a fluid template at another time.

You can cleanly add blocks to the sidebar by editing the template 'ad_header_end', look through it and you should figure it out. I can offer you some help if you still need it. Using conditionals would be a great way to hide the sidebar depending on where you are (That's what is used to hide user CP except on user CP related pages).
