Have you tried the DBTech here on vb.org?
https://vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=243510 Should work on all vB 4.x versions.

There are at least five of these that all work perfectly well. Three of them are linked in the first post of the original Abe01 hack.

I've installed DBTech's product (both Pro and Lite) on many vB 4.2.x sites, and it works wonderfully.

No one should use vbseo anymore due to it's extreme vulnerabilities. If you're using it, you need to ditch it asap. Not trying to be mean to you or anything but we've already established several years ago how vulnerable vbseo is, even after they closed down their business/website.
Anyways, here's what I use, it's a pretty lightweight ajax likes modification. https://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=285720 No members have liked this post.
