I have asked this same question many times. No one has been able to answer it.

The link you provided was for vB 3.6. There used to be a hack for that older version, but it doesn't work with 4.2.1. If I figure it out I'll let you know how I did it.

There is should be an answer of course, but may not the best as you know...

You can add some css to your class .navtabs:

.navtabs {
padding-left: 0;
margin-left: 10%;
margin-right: 10%;
}

Show your site and I can help you center navigation
or you can try this code
.css_your_navi{
margin: 0px auto;
width: 800px;
}

I found this option under admincp/styles templates/style manager/[your current style]/edit template/CSS Templates

from there you need to find the .footer id or class, copyright is likely the class, depending on your theme, and set text-align to center...worked for me.....

Just realized my mistake.....you were after the nav section....same holds true....lemme look through, but that question is definitely a css change. Sorry for the mistake in my answer, thought you were looking at sub-footer text. Will post the correct line if I can find it, though I believe the same area of admincp is where you would find it.
