Hooks in vb

I know how hooks work in vb and vaguely know how to use them. I was just wondering if there was a nice guide that I can follow so that I can make sure I am doing everything right and not just collecting bits and pieces from forum searches and overlook something.

Thanks

EDIT: Is this one sufficient or outdated?

Basically, you can run pretty much any code in plugins. The code is run at the "hook location' you choose, which are defined in the files at specific points.

Make sure you add plugins through the Admin CP, and do not try manually editing the XML files.
